Summary:
Perform civil engineering design and construction support of renewable energy wind, solar, and battery storage projects.
Requirements:
- Performs civil site design, including road design, pad grading, drainage, and hydrology under the direction of a senior engineer, using AutoCAD Civil 3D.
- Communicate effectively with engineers, designers, and site team.
- Perform hydraulic and hydrology assessment for stormwater management and civil site design.
- Performs and coordinates the engineering tasks to support development, permitting, pre-construction, and site construction activities.
- Present, support, and lead-by-example with a safety and quality-oriented attitude.
- Assists with foundation designs, including wind turbine foundations, solar PV pilings, and miscellaneous plant structures.
- Prepares calculations and quantity takeoffs as necessary.
- Performs construction support including periodic travel to the site, technical support, shop drawing review, request for information responses, coordinates with sub-contractors, bid evaluation, and project close-out.
Qualifications:
- Surveying
- Exposure to national design codes and standards such as IBC, ASCE 7, NOAA Atlas 14, ASTM standards, etc.
- Civil Site Design
- Experience with Design Software:
- Autodesk AutoCAD Civil 3D
- MathCAD
- Hydroflow, HydroCAD, Flo-2D, HEC-RAS, HEC HMS or similar
- STAAD, Risa 3D or other Finite Element Modeling software is not required but beneficial
- MS Office 365 (Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.)
- Geotechnical engineering
- Hydroflow, HydroCAD, Flo-2D, HEC-RAS, HEC HMS or similar
- Communication
- Internally with estimating, contracts, development, technical group, construction team, management, accountants, procurement, and health, safety, quality, and environment departments
- Externally with subcontractors, suppliers, vendors, owners, clients, landowners, and jurisdictional agencies.
- MathCAD
- EI/EIT preferred
- Bachelor’s Degree in civil engineering or a related field of study, required.
- Entry level of knowledge in:
- Civil Site Design
- Roads Design
- Stormwater Management Design
- Geotechnical engineering
- Surveying
- MS Office 365 (Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.)
- Functional competencies include accountability, attention to detail, communication, prioritization, and teamwork.
- 1 year or more of experience in civil site development, geotechnical, or structural engineering disciplines, preferred. We will evaluate courses completed while working towards a BSCE in lieu of job experience.
- Externally with subcontractors, suppliers, vendors, owners, clients, landowners, and jurisdictional agencies.

- Ability to travel 5 to 15%, required.

Anticipated base salary range: $67,000 - $79,000
The final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. This position is bonus eligible.
