Perform hydraulic and hydrology assessment for stormwater management and civil site design.

Internally with estimating, contracts, development, technical group, construction team, management, accountants, procurement, and health, safety, quality, and environment departments

Assists with foundation designs, including wind turbine foundations, solar PV pilings, and miscellaneous plant structures.

Performs and coordinates the engineering tasks to support development, permitting, pre-construction, and site construction activities.

Prepares calculations and quantity takeoffs as necessary.

Present, support, and lead-by-example with a safety and quality-oriented attitude.

Nuclear experience preferred but not required

Advanced knowledge of discipline codes and standards, commercial availability and cost of materials

Intermediate computer and software skills to include the use of word processing, e-mail, spreadsheet and electronic presentation programs

Preferred to have experience with analysis of support structures and seismic qualification of equipment.

Required Minimum Education and Experience

Proficient computer skills in standard Windows programs (Excel, Word, etc)

Team work and collaboration skills across organizational boundaries

Knowledge of ASME B31.1, ASME Section III, ASME Section IX, and NRC requirements for piping design.

Performing other assigned duties as determined by the Civil/Structural Design Engineering Manager

7-10 years of experience in the nuclear or relevant industry performing Structural/seismic design/analysis.

Must meet Nuclear requirements for Unescorted Plant Access.

Greater than seven years of experience in Nuclear Power Plant Engineering.

Experience in pipe stress and pipe support analysis, design, and software analysis tools such as ME-101 or equivalent.

Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Experience

Security Officers will learn nuclear defense tactics, security policies and procedures, and gain tactical work experience.

Basic knowledge of weaponry and the safe handling of firearms.

Ability to successfully complete physical training requirements.

Basic EMT certification a plus

CNC machining skills and experience

One and one-half (1½) years of directly related experience

Two-year technical school degree, or equivalent experience or training (e.g., military)

Prior experience in rigging and lifting

Demonstrated diagnostic and analytical skills

Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Knowledge of the tools and equipment and their skilled use as required in the work.

Knowledge of the layout, construction functions as applied to construction work.

Knowledge of occupational rules, safety practices and procedures applicable to the work.

Knowledge of administration of construction contracts.

Performs preliminary engineering studies, conducting location or foundation investigations and preparing plans and specifications.

A Masters Degree in a related field is preferable, as are certificates in storm water management or a QSP/QSD.

A minimum of 2 years experience in municipal type infrastructure projects.

Budget estimates, cost control, and schedule for assigned tasks and/or projects.

Calculate cost and determine feasibility of project based on analysis of collected data.

Prepare or direct preparation and modification of reports, specifications, plans, installation schedules, environmental impact studies, and designs for project(s).

Assist in training of staff.

Complete calculations using engineering formulas and skills and/or utilizes computers in order to solve problems

Working knowledge of AutoCAD Civil 3D and/or Microstation highly preferred

Design portions of a project using relevant office software, modeling and Civil 3D technology

Work to complete design details and plan sets

Perform research and writes objective summary reports which are used in the completion of the project work or inspection

Assist in the preparation of engineering and construction cost estimates

Provides direction to less-experienced engineers and technicians

Plans and coordinates engineering activities under general guidance

Applies nuclear regulations and standards to work assignments

Acts as a liaison to interfacing departments

Performs engineering and analytical tasks to develop reliable, cost effective recommendations

Uses advanced computer models to develop and study solution feasibility
