The Process Leader is the technical expert and leader for an asset team on a given shift within the Operations department. The primary role is to ensure their team meets the defined business needs and objectives for safety, quality, productivity, efficiency, waste, and cost through improved equipment reliability and improving the skills and contributions of each team member.
In this role, you will be running technologically advanced, high-speed manufacturing equipment and collaborating with new or junior team members to do their best work safely. Core Job Responsibilities:
- Lead a team of operators to:
- Drive continuous improvement using Lean and TPM methodologies
- Perform with integrity all required quality checks
- Safely operate high speed manufacturing equipment
- Conduct grade changes, count changes, predictive and preventive maintenance tasks, and associated offline support activities such as rebuilding of sub-assemblies.
- Problem solving and decision making skills
- Communicate effectively across teams and shifts in order to drive improvements.
- Role model appropriate interpersonal skills to lead a high performance team.
- Motivated self-starter
- Provide technical support and required maintenance for the asset / production area.
- Demonstrate the behaviors of Build Trust, Make Decisions, Win Consistently, Think Customer, Build Talent, and Continuously Improve.
- Maintain proper sanitary conditions and housekeeping standards.
- Provide coaching and development for Process Operators.
- Leverage both mechanical and electrical skillsets to troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair equipment failures.
Required Job Functions:
- Must be able to lift 40 pounds twice each hour.
- Ascend and descend stairs, ladders and ramps.
- Ability to lead a High Performing Team
- Ability to maintain a work schedule of 12-hour night shift, including overtime, weekends and holidays
- Must be able to wear the required PPE while performing tasks
- Role model all Safety Requirements including Electrical Safe Working Practices, Hazard Recognition, and PPE.
- Adhere to all Quality Requirements including strict Gowning and Hygiene requirements.
- Basic computer skills, including skill in Microsoft Office, as well as, skill using both web-based and software based programs
- Perform bending, twisting, stooping and crouching movements.
Required Qualifications:
- Minimum of 18 years of age
- Electrical capabilities, including a working knowledge of low and medium voltage systems as well as ability to read electrical schematics and diagrams
- Legal right to work in the United States
- Mechanical capabilities, including troubleshooting, maintenance, grade changes, and repairs
- 2 years of electrical/mechanical maintenance and troubleshooting experience in a fast-paced industrial setting OR a 2 year Technical degree
- High school diploma or GED equivalency
Preferred Qualifications:
- 2 year Technical certificate or degree
- Experience in a fast-paced, team-based work environment
- 2 years Leadership experience leading a High Performing Team
- Experience working in a Lean and/or TPM environment
- Ability to troubleshoot PLCs and drives
This position may require a post-offer/pre-hire Physical Abilities Test (PAT) to confirm that individuals are able to perform the essential functions of the job.
