Conveyance 1 Group Leader (Supervisor)

YKTA is seeking applicants for Conveyance 1 Group Leaders (Supervisors) at our facility in Huntsville, Alabama. YKTA is a joint venture of three successful automotive supplier companies- Y-tec, Keylex, and Toyotetsu. YKTA products provide structural safety for the vehicle and important functional parts that must operate as designed. YKTA is an on-site partner and tier one supplier for Mazda Toyota Manufacturing, USA.

Summary/ Objective:

The role of the Group Leader is expected to support the Conveyance team members by providing a positive work environment for team members and ensuring efficient material flow throughout the entire plant. The Group Leader uses a combination of people leadership, analytical thinking, problem solving skills, flow analysis tools and industry experience to evaluate material delivery to the line side in a JIT/Kanban sequencing process. The Group Leader will aid the department manager in designing practical routes that support 30-minute frequency delivery. The position will ensure these solutions are prepared for proper execution and final installation that results in zero downtime for lack of material.

Essential Functions (but are not limited to):

• Evaluate the issue and consult Manager and/ or Human Resources as needed to determine the most effective resolution.
• Report machine or personnel issues to their next direct member of leadership or management.
• Ensure quality requirements and procedures for the area are understood and met.
• Manage team members time and attendance and perform coaching as necessary to improve attendance and turnover.
• Utilize the appropriate personnel based on skill sets.
• Review production schedules to ensure the manufacturing of product(s) is completed and scheduled delivery dates are met.
• Ensures safety of self and others by following all Safety Policies/Procedures and wearing all required PE.
• Ability to work rotating shifts and overtime as required.
• Regular attendance is required.
• Evaluate, develop, and ensure appropriate training processes are completed when employees move to different jobs.
• Monitor and adjust to meet expectations for quality, productivity, housekeeping, and safety.
• Plan and review production operations, establishing priorities and sequences for manufacturing products. Resolve operational, manufacturing, and maintenance problems to ensure minimum costs and prevent delays.
• Develop & coordinate cost reduction activities to achieve yearly targets.
• Aid team members in solving problems/ concerns that affect their performance.

Must be flexible to work in all areas and in your department regardless of duties listed above in order to accomplish YKTA Goals and objectives.

Required Qualifications, Education, and Experience:

• Personal computer and software skills with Microsoft office experience, Plex experience is a plus.
• Ability to read and follow instructions.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Five years of production experience or customer service equivalent, with a minimum of two (2) plus years in a supervisory position.

Environment:

• Frequent movement throughout an industrial plant environment being exposed to high noise levels and equipment normally used in stamping / welding/ Ecoat environments.
• Work is conducted in an industrial office/ plant setting.

Physical Demands:

• Must be able to lift up to 33 pounds at times.
• Prolonged periods of standing on the plant floor.
• Must be able to traverse the entire facility.
