JOB MISSION:

As a Robotics Systems Engineer, you will analyze and drive innovation in product and manufacturing technology in the MADE network. You will collaborate with internal Innovation teams as well as external partnerships to discover exciting opportunities to solve problems and transfer technology. You will ensure that new processes are smoothly introduced from Pilot programs through commercialization and that issues are quickly identified and resolved. In this role you will work with a cross-functional team to create, validate, and scale custom automation solutions to the factory floor.

MAJOR ACCOUNTABILITIES:

• Stays current with emerging trends and new technologies related to advanced automation, process controls, and robotics/cobotics.
• Manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously, including coordination and collaboration with internal and external business partners, contractors and vendors.
• Assists with development of project strategy and communicates complex data/decisions
• Identify and drive implementation of Industry 4.0 methodologies
• Partners with Innovation teams to develop end to end advanced process control strategies.
• Partners with Manufacturing and Process Engineers to develop automation solutions deployable within the domestic value chain.
• Integrate a wide range of equipment, sensors, controllers, and industrial systems of varying communication protocols.
• Operate with a startup mentality in terms of speed to initiation, a hands-on focus to rapid prototyping and testing, and working with early adopters to validate potential.

REQUIREMENT FOR SUCCESS:

• Superior knowledge of AC and DC power systems, electrical protection systems, instrumentation, and digital control systems.
• Familiarity with IEC standards and safety requirements
• Capable of assembling and debugging complex electromechanical systems
• Bachelor of Science in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or equivalent with 8+ years of relevant work experience, Master’s Degree preferred.
• Programming experience with Python a plus
• PLC programming experience (Allen Bradley, Siemens, Honeywell, TwinCAT)
• Demonstrated background integrating robotics and industrial automation systems
• Experience designing systems level electrical schematics and Industrial Control Panels
• Prior experience working with industrial manufacturing equipment.
• Experience sourcing hardware components used in automation

Flexible Work Schedule
