Your Responsibilities

As an Electrical Design Engineer for the John Deere Dubuque Works division, located in Dubuque, IA, you will:

• Lead the development of electrical components and harnesses on the Deere Excavator portfolio.
• Diagnose and resolve electrical issues on prototype machines and current production units.
• Work with test engineers, supply management, and quality to deliver optimized solutions.
• Work with global development teams (USA, India, China, and Brazil) to launch new vehicle programs into production.

What Skills You Need

• 3 or more years of professional product development engineering experience
• Prior experience working in a global based environment, collaborating on the resolution of a technical issue
• A willingness to attack emerging issues, determine root cause, and drive corrective action
• Able and willing to travel up to 25%
• Ability to create 3D electrical harness geometry
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Ability to understand and create electrical schematics with knowledge of key electrical concepts and design principles
• Strong problem solving skills

What Makes You Stand Out

• Experience in the design and development of electrical systems for off road equipment
• Experience with modeling tools for harness routing and drawing creation, especially Creo or Capital Harness
• Experience working with suppliers of electrical components or harnesses
• Experience in excavator design or product verification/validation
• Experience in diagnosing and solving field issues

Education Details

Ideally you will have a degree or equivalent related work experience in the following:

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Computer Science
