Your Responsibilities
As an Electrical Design Engineer for the John Deere Dubuque Works division, located in Dubuque, IA, you will:
- Lead the development of electrical components and harnesses on the Deere Excavator portfolio.
- Diagnose and resolve electrical issues on prototype machines and current production units.
- Work with test engineers, supply management, and quality to deliver optimized solutions.
- Work with global development teams (USA, India, China, and Brazil) to launch new vehicle programs into production.

What Skills You Need
- 3 or more years of professional product development engineering experience
- Prior experience working in a global based environment, collaborating on the resolution of a technical issue
- A willingness to attack emerging issues, determine root cause, and drive corrective action
- Able and willing to travel up to 25%
- Ability to create 3D electrical harness geometry
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to understand and create electrical schematics with knowledge of key electrical concepts and design principles
- Strong problem solving skills
What Makes You Stand Out
- Experience in the design and development of electrical systems for off road equipment
- Experience with modeling tools for harness routing and drawing creation, especially Creo or Capital Harness
- Experience working with suppliers of electrical components or harnesses
- Experience in excavator design or product verification/validation
- Experience in diagnosing and solving field issues
Education Details
Ideally you will have a degree or equivalent related work experience in the following:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Computer Science
