Electrical Design Engineer Jobs

Corsair Technical Services ( corsairtechnicalservices.com ) is a veteran-owned small business providing government and industry customers with quality instructional systems engineering analysis, supportability engineering, logistics services, and business capture and proposal support services.

Corsair is hiring a talented, innovative Design Engineer with a passion for aviation design and development to join its growing engineering team developing unmanned aircraft systems. This engineer will work closely with a small collaborative team of mechanical, aerospace, and software engineers to develop products for Department of Defense (DoD) customers. This is a hands-on position and engineers are responsible for driving their projects through from concept design through deployment while providing valuable input for optimization and efficiency.

The systems for this project include high DC-power VTOL systems (motors, high current batteries, cable harnesses, etc), low-power systems (power distribution unit, power on/off, current/voltage monitoring, battery charging, etc.), and an understanding of the integration between the power system and propulsion system (starter/generator, fuel system integration, kill switch, etc.).

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

· Plan and execute aircraft wiring and design projects.

· Perform, integrate, and document aircraft electrical design, drawings, assemblies, and power budgets.

· Solid experience in printed circuit board assembly (PCBA) design – including processes, tools, and schematics

· Create wiring schematics and 3D wire harnesses in CATIA V6.

· Support sizing, arrangement, and integration of systems.

· Drive analysis to validate requirement compliance.

· Integrate with cross-functional team members for design, layout, and documentation.

Qualifications Required:

· Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering or other related discipline and 15+ years of related experience

· At least 3+ years of experience in wire harness detail and assembly designs.

· Demonstrated advanced capability in computer-aided design and engineering with schematics and wire harness design, particularly in CATIA V6 (although CATIA V5 experience will be considered).

· Strong background in power architecture, component sizing, and integration

· Solid experience in printed circuit board assembly (PCBA) design – including processes, tools, and schematics

· Understands aircraft development and certification processes

· Knowledge of industry-standard electrical design principles – including model-based design and manufacturing processes

· Experience working with small, multi-disciplinary teams

· Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to communicate and integrate in both an in-person and remote setting

· Ability to work in a fast paced, autonomously driven, and demanding atmosphere

· U.S. Citizen

Qualifications Desired:

· Background in Aircraft Design

· Background in the Defense Industry

· Experience with 3DX

· Experience with Interface Control Documents (ICD)
