Job Description

The Opportunity

As a Customer Service Specialist and Blogger, you will enjoy a dynamic role that balances customer support with creative blog writing and surf gear testing. Our customer service team consists of passionate surfers who assist online customers, test products, and contribute reviews and guides. This remote position requires in-person training and quarterly visits to our Seaside, OR headquarters. Please note that applicants must be current residents of Oregon or Washington to be considered for this position.


Qualifications

  • Strong teamwork and clear communication skills
  • Effective communication via phone, email, and chat
  • Must be a current resident of Oregon or Washington
  • 4+ years of customer service experience
  • Aptitude for learning new software and products
  • 2+ years of blogging/writing/editing experience
  • Knowledge of surfing and the surf industry
  • Stoke for surfing and the surf lifestyle
  • Proficiency in eCommerce websites and customer interactions
  • Ability to travel to Seaside, Oregon quarterly


Responsibilities

  • Write, edit, and post blogs reviewing surf products
  • Test and research surf products
  • Reach out to vendors to source products for customers, or check availability and pricing
  • Take orders over the phone and key them into our system accurately
  • Help resolve issues with UPS and USPS when customers have not received their packages. Keep customer up to date as to the status of such inquiries
  • Take detailed notes in our system to keep other team members in the loop
  • Resolve customer concerns to a satisfactory conclusion
  • Respond daily to emails, phone requests, and chats regarding products, orders, shipping updates, special pricing, and more
