Assistant Controller - Remote | Wfh

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Financial Controller to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing and implementing various accounting functions within our organization. Your expertise in financial analysis, budgeting, and internal controls will play a crucial role in our continued success. Please note that this position is initially remote, with plans to transition to an office setting in the Greater Cincinnati area in the near future.
Role Overview
As the Financial Controller, you will be at the forefront of financial decision-making and strategy. Your responsibilities will encompass a wide range of financial areas, including forecasting, budget coordination, and analysis of monthly variances. You will play a key role in maintaining the accuracy and integrity of our financial records.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Management:
Develop and enforce accounting policies and procedures, guiding financial decisions.
Lead the month-end close process and assist with billing procedures.
Manage both Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable functions.
Treasury And Cash Management
Oversee accounts payable and receivable activities, ensuring efficient management.
Develop a cash forecasting tool to maintain optimal working capital levels.
Prepare compliance schedules for banking requirements.
Budgeting And Cost Control
Collaborate in the annual budget process and ensure adherence to budget across the organization.
Collaborate with various departments to identify opportunities for profit improvement.
Systems And Technology
Partner with IT resources to enhance and update accounting systems.
Serve as the primary subject matter expert for all accounting systems.
Manage permission levels within accounting/ERP systems to maintain internal controls.
Innovate and implement technology-driven solutions to automate accounting processes.
Team Leadership
Foster the growth of the finance and accounting team, ensuring efficient service delivery within budget constraints.
Uphold performance management and staff development practices for your team members.
Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance.
Minimum Of 5 Years Of Relevant Experience.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and industry-related software.
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
Effective staff management and leadership abilities; adept at prioritization and workload management.
Exceptional communication skills for diverse internal and external interactions.
Experience in process development and change management.
Additional Information
This role may involve a flexible work schedule, including weekdays, weekends, holidays, and occasional nights, depending on workload demands. The position entails a mix of office work and client site visits, with some travel to customer locations (conditions may vary).
