We are seeking a detail-oriented Software Tester to work with our PRH Digital Product Development and Operation team to help us coordinate our testing of tools and processes. This candidate will be responsible for initial testing of all tool development, coordination of beta testing processes with our user base, as well as coordination and communication with the developers. The candidate will help create testing scenarios, both automated and manual, to ensure our tools are functioning as expected and our ebooks are rendering as expected in the marketplace. The Ebook Testing Manager will manage the various testing processes that are integral to our tool development and ebook production processes. Additionally, the Ebook Testing Manager will help test the functionality of our ebook specification across a diverse reading platform landscape, including desktop, mobile, and dedicated e-reader devices. The Ebook Testing Manager will work closely with the VP, Ebook Technologies, the SVP, Digital Product Development and Operations, the Ebook technical team, and the Ebook production teams. They will test and implement best practices and share new ideas as technology improvements are made across our production tools and digital products. We are looking for a detail-oriented, meticulous self-starter who is accountable, passionate, assertive, proactive, adaptable, and results oriented.
Responsiblities:
- Coordinate between the development team and any other testing group
- Design manual and automated testing processes, testing plans, and test cases
- Play a strategic role in the overall design and implementation of the testing program
- Maintain the overall quality of the tool suites and oversee all stages of testing
- Perform the following types of tests manually and/or using test automation tools: system, functional, regression, integration, and usability
- Develop a comprehensive framework for software testing and organize testing activities for new and existing releases
- Takes responsibility for testing of our internal tool sets, as well as in-market device testing
Requirements:
- 1-2 years working with test automation
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in working with developers, project and release managers, system administrators, business analysts, and database administrators
- Proven ability to learn and apply new technologies quickly
- Must be a self-starter that can self-manage their daily workload
- Experience working in close partnership with cross-functional teams and management
- 3-5 years of experience in a software testing role
- Excellent communication skills (written and oral) and problem-solving ability
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in software testing, with a thorough knowledge of software development lifecycle principles and testing methodology
- Ability to work independently (self-driven, focused, and analytical)
- Passion for learning - remaining current on new technologies
- Knowledge of EPUB, Adobe Creative Suite, Python, JIRA, and GIT a plus
- Passionate about quality and seeing things to completion
The salary for this position is $70,000. All positions are currently eligible for annual profit award or bonus, subject to Company results.
