Your Impact:
When it comes to environmental consulting, we’re focused on the greatest challenges the planet faces, including energy transition. We are looking for an early to mid-career natural resource professional to support our clients in the Western US.
Aligned to our Irvine or San Diego, California office, you’ll have the opportunity to help our energy and technology sector clients to advance their infrastructure programs. Our work includes siting, permitting, construction, maintenance, and federal projects. You will participate in field and office work and engage with our team’s experts in evaluating and minimizing the effects of proposed projects on natural resources. You will be mentored by senior technical staff. As you progress, your growth and increase in responsibility will be recognized and rewarded with commensurate changes in level and compensation.
Jacobs supports work from home and flexible schedules. A consistent presence in one of our offices is not required.
Here’s What You’ll Need:- Bachelor’s Degree in Biology, Environmental Science, Planning, Ecology, or similar discipline
- Experience performing desktop surveys to determine need for permits and potential for presence of special status species
- Experience with fieldwork conducting habitat assessments for special status species
- Familiarity with state and federal regulations; knowledge of environmental regulatory processes (e.g., California Environmental Quality Act, National Environmental Policy Act, Section 401, 404, and 1600 permitting, and Section 7 consultation)
- Ability to travel or be in the field and occasional work in rough terrain and challenging weather conditions.
Ideally, You’ll Also Have:
- Master’s degree
- Special status species experience California gnatcatcher, Mojave desert tortoise, or western burrowing owl,
- Interest in native plant identification
- Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response Safety Training (HAZWOPER)
