Job Description
RWS Entertainment Group is currently seeking a full-time Director of Resident Productions for their sea operations. The candidate will report to the Director of Operations at Sea and should have a minimum experience as a senior manager or supervisor. The Director of Resident Productions will have various responsibilities such as scheduling, supervising, interviewing, onboarding, and training employees, maintaining budgets, and creating guidelines.

Roles & Responsibilities


  • Creatively look at scheduling of yearly ops, where we can trim, co-teach, split shift etc.
  • Guide and support full time team of 4 and seasonal team of 40+ (including specialty, Acro artist/fight directors) for all ongoing operations.
  • Vet & Interview Prospective Show Supervisors for both Seasonal and Full Time Work to work without talent in the studio for rehearsals, as well as onboard for installs/changeovers.
  • Maintain and Track Budgets for Resident Direction needs.
  • Approve Weekly Timecards
  • Onboard Seasonal Show Supervisors, Aerial Directors, Fight Directors
  • Create, oversea and maintain guidelines and SOPs for rehearsal room/instruction etiquette and documentation.
  • Request Uber Vouchers for Seasonal Employees
  • Train Employees both on the administrative and the creative portions of the job. Ensuring they understand parameters for both RWS, and our clients.
  • Coverage for Resident Production Team when on PTO for all urgent needs


Necessary Qualifications


  • 5+ years of experience in the entertainment industry working in theatre or live entertainment settings
  • Must be proficient in Excel and MS Office applications
  • Advanced written and verbal communication skills
  • A BFA/BA degree in Dance, Theatre, Directing or equivalent professional experience
  • Motivation, dedication, passion, integrity, collaboration, and self-direction
  • A minimum of 2 years in a management position, preferably within a theatre setting
  • A flexible schedule allowing for approximately 35% international travel
  • 2 years of experience documenting show related materials


Additional Qualifications


Ideal candidates also have:


  • Experience with StageWrite application
  • Dance Captain experience
  • Assistant Director or Choreographer experience
  • Cruise ship and/or Theme Park experience


A valid passport for the duration of employment for all travel-related roles. Proof of vaccination against COVID-19 (or proof of exemption) will be required.

  • Mobile (in NY/NJ/CT Metro Area): Team members who are pre-approved to regularly perform their job responsibilities remotely up to two (2) days per week, with three (3) days per week operating out of the RWS New York City headquarters.


Salary Range: Minimum $70,000-$80,000 annual exempt salary
