Job Description
Firetrol Protection Systems is looking for a Director of Training to enhance and transform our training program. As a leading fire protection and life safety company, Firetrol is committed to developing our employees, providing career opportunities, and improving operational effectiveness through training. The Director of Training will play a critical role in leading the development and implementation of training programs to support our growing team of over 900 employees.


The ideal candidate will help employees develop the knowledge and skills needed to provide our customers with the highest level of service. Reporting to the Director of Human Resources, the Director of Training will work closely with management teams and employees at all levels of the organization to provide comprehensive, customized training solutions that meet the needs of our diverse workforce.


Candidates may be based in Houston, TX, Dallas, TX or Oklahoma City, OK.


Responsibilities


  • Partner with management to identify operational and process-related challenges. Facilitate efforts to collaborate and design solutions under continuous improvement principles
  • Establish and maintain partnerships with key industry organizations and educational institutions as needed to supplement and enhance training programs
  • Identify needs and develop training in key areas, including, but not limited to: Communication, Leadership, Teamwork/Team building, Project Management, Quality, Business Tools, Certification & License preparation, and Employee Wellbeing
  • Focus on development of train-the-trainer programs to ensure training can be replicated and deployed to a broader audience while maintaining quality
  • Work closely with subject matter experts within the organization to ensure training programs are accurate, relevant, and up to date
  • Develop and implement training strategies that support the company's mission to be the employer of choice and the most respected company in the Fire & Life Safety industry
  • Oversee all aspects of the training life cycle, including curriculum development, content creation, instructional design, and delivery of training programs
  • Evaluate and assess the effectiveness of training programs and make recommendations for continuous improvement and enhancement
  • Build and promote Firetrol's culture of learning, respect, open communication, and excellence


Requirements


  • Bachelor's degree in education, learning & development, instructional design, or related field. Master's degree preferred
  • Strong leadership and organizational skills
  • Strong data collection and analysis skills
  • Frequent travel to deliver training or otherwise support business needs
  • Excellent communication, facilitation and presentation skills
  • Demonstrated ability to provide solutions to unique training and development challenges
  • Strong understanding of train-the-trainer methodologies and performance measures
  • Proven track record of developing and implementing successful training programs
  • Knowledge of adult learning theory and instructional design principles
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in training and development, preferably in a construction or industrial setting
  • Knowledge and experience with continuous improvement principles and practices, and their impact on training and overall organizational effectiveness
  • Extensive experience with the construction industry, including a geographically dispersed craft and manual labor workforce strongly preferred
