The Director PMO – North America position at Worldwide Flight Services leads a team of Project Managers and Business Analysts that oversee strategic projects focused on growing, improving, and enhancing WFS’ business. The Director PMO should have a proven track record of successful project delivery, an ability to improve project management practices, and substantial team leadership experience. The Director is primarily responsible for ensuring that these projects are executed on time and within their planned budgets. This individual will build close relationships across the entire organization and communicate project progress to Senior and Global Leadership consistently. The position will also be responsible for process improvement of project management processes at WFS and require developing and maintaining high standards of work product from the team and other stakeholders. The selected candidate will have significant experience in leading and managing projects to be able to promote best-in-class methodologies, standards, and tools to enhance WFS’ PMO. The position requires a proven leader who can collaborate with and develop multiple direct reports. The successful candidate will have the drive and curiosity to identify project roadblocks and work to find solutions to complex problems involving many stakeholders.
Responsibilities
Strategy & Prioritization
- Enforce project intake guidelines and principles to properly prioritize company projects
- Develop and align PMO strategy with broader WFS business goals in North America and Globally
- Lead and support the project business case process from creation to approval by WFS leadership
- Create an annual strategy for the PMO team and provide areas and themes of focus that align with the overall company strategy.
- Manage third-party vendors related to PMO projects and promote the interests of WFS at all times through the use of contracts, negotiations, and tactical positioning.
- Develop a stakeholder map to identify and manage project supporters to ensure the successful completion of projects
- Develop and grow PMO relationships with relevant stakeholders to ensure alignment and speed of execution
- Interface with executives to define project priorities, implementation opportunities, and challenges and communicate project risks and opportunities.
Continuous Improvement
- Partner with the Continuous Improvement team and promote change management at WFS warehouses and other airport operations
- Identify and champion improvements to the current PMO processes through team and stakeholder communication
- Monitor compliance with all improvements
- Manage the creation of helpful resources for stakeholders and the operation such as dashboards, reports, and templates
- Consistently improve processes by performing project reviews at the end of every initiative and collecting lessons learned from all supporting parties
- Seek implementation efficiencies to meet or exceed the financial expectations established at project initiation.
Leadership
- Represent the North American PMO team at Global leadership meetings, provide updates on all projects, and advise mitigation plans for any potential issues
- Provide consistent feedback to promote the growth and development of team members
- Set annual performance targets for direct reports and conduct performance reviews and evaluations per WFS values
- Lead a team of Project Managers and Business Analysts
- Evaluate current PMO resources and develop an enhancement plan through the use of upskilling or hiring additional team members
- Oversee Project Managers for the delivery of projects/programs on time, within the scope, and on budget.

Required Skills and Abilities
- Excellent analytical skills
- Bachelor’s degree with a concentration in Project Management, Finance, Accounting, or another Business-related field.
- Strong PowerPoint and Excel skills
- Ability to work with tight deadlines
- Personable and professional demeanor
- At least 4 years of leadership experience
- Knowledge of change management and influential factors
- Must be able to work under high demand and pressure
- At least 4 years of experience in project management
- Excellent oral, written, and communication skills
- 8+ years of total experience
- Ability multi-task and work independently as well as in different (local) teams
