Job Description


Role Overview:


The Director of Product Management helps provide overall product strategy to ensure both client and internal expectations are met and plays a key role in defining and delivering MHK’s offerings. The Director of Product Management will supervise a team with the key responsibility for steering the product line and leading to product success through innovation, planning and execution. The ideal candidate has the passion and desire to create highly satisfied customers, improve the product line, advance their own knowledge and help remove impediments so the team can consistently move forward.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Leadership – Lead a product management team responsible for a one vertical within MHK product portfolio.
  • Effectively use data to identify new opportunities and roadmap priorities.
  • Product Strategy – Own long term view of product strategy for the assigned vertical within the portfolio
  • Contribute to defining overall MHK product strategy in collaboration with wider product management team.
  • Ensure communication of the product plans for the assigned vertical in the portfolio is clear to stakeholders within the organization.
  • Make trade-off decisions to maximize value delivered to customer and MHK
  • Customer Insight - Be an ambassador for the customers with capacity to understand and advocate for the customer needs within your vertical of the portfolio.
  • Collaboration - Foster strong relationships within cross functional teams and service as a connective tissue between all parts of the organization.
  • Incorporate customer research as a key part of developing the roadmap within assigned vertical of the portfolio.
  • Propagate context and metrics that define success of your team.
  • Participate in defining and implement processes that enable product management to work with cross-functional teams, define, build and launch well-designed, stable products.
  • Participate in process definition and improvement to drive product roadmap and execution.
  • Product Execution - ensure successful delivery of business value and outcomes.
  • Collaborate with sales, marketing and client success team in developing customer and market insights for the respective vertical in the portfolio.
  • Clearly define product roadmap for the assigned vertical of the product portfolio, identify drivers and outcomes as part of the roadmap prioritization.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to refine requirements, resolve conflicts, and remove impediments for development teams.
  • Mentor, enable and empower your team members.
  • Partner with engineering, sales, marketing, client success, and other key stakeholders to ensure relevant, quality and timely delivery of product roadmap within your assigned vertical of the MHK portfolio.


Education/Certification


  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred but will consider a combination of experience and education


Required Experience:


  • Strong technical understanding and experience working with engineering to navigate technical discussions, translating client and business needs into solid requirements, including a strong understanding of agile software development processes and how to deliver on short- and long-term priorities.
  • Excellent communication skills. Able to speak to many audiences - engineers, designers, leadership, operations, etc and able to structure written and verbal communications clearly for all audiences.
  • 3+ years of Management roles (with multiple direct reports), including experience working with remote/geographically distributed teams.
  • Organized and skilled at processes. This Director is adept at project and team management, loves thinking about how to improve the process and team to make things work more efficiently and smoothly. Innovation is always at the forefront.
  • Experienced leading effectively both as a leader and a cross-functional peer. You push work forward, keep things moving, and are never complacent.
  • Strategic thinking. Experience making product decisions that are in line with the company’s strategy and without perfect or full information.
  • 7+ years of demonstrated product management experience.
  • Detail oriented. The ideal candidate understands the difference between letting something slip through the cracks vs. actively de-prioritizing items, and will want to understand, in depth, how our system works.
  • Experience in delivery of technology solutions within the Healthcare industry, working with payer and/or provider organizations, exposure and understanding of Population Health and VBB trends and drivers.


Preferred Qualifications:


  • Experience working with healthcare products and SaaS solutions


Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:


  • Ability to research and solve problems independently.
  • Ability to sit for extended periods of time
