We're currently seeking a seasoned Director of Product Design with a strong background in UI/UX, as well as coding skills that are essential for this role. The ideal candidate will be a problem solver with a deep understanding of user-centred design, exceptional skills in React, and experience working in CSS frameworks like Material UI or Tailwind CSS.

We expect our Director of Product Design to actively participate in code development. You will not just be designing interfaces but also be expected to roll up your sleeves and translate your designs into well-structured, efficient code. Your understanding of front-end development, coupled with your design skills, will play a critical role in the successful implementation of our products.

Reporting into the VP of Tech & Product, we will lean on you to provide a unique perspective on the future of user experience and contribute to the development of our cutting-edge AI technology. Your coding skills will directly contribute to the realization of our vision, as you help translate user requirements into functional, visually-appealing interfaces that enhance user experience and drive customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and test UI for the front-end of the Tribble platform
• Collaborate with back-end developers and product team to improve usability
• Build reusable code and libraries for future use
• Create UX for multi-modal experiences: web app, browser extensions, bots, and beyond
• Ensure the technical feasibility of UI/UX designs
• Deeply understand UI/UX best practices, ensuring users are delighted with the Tribble platform

Qualifications

• Proficiency with HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and TypeScript
• Experience leading a design team, developing points-of-view on UX paradigms, particularly with AI applications
• Minimum 5 years of experience in front-end development, preferably with React
• Familiarity with code versioning tools such as Git
• Testing frameworks such as Jest or similar
• Proficient understanding of cross-browser compatibility issues and ways to work around them
• Experience with CSS frameworks like Material UI, Tailwind CSS or similar

Nice-to-Have Skills

• Chrome Extension development
• Experience with Node/Express backend development
• Experience working with Microsoft Azure
• Experience with SQL (preferably PostgreSQL)

Educational Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience
