Job Description

Your Purpose:


Brightline is looking for a dedicated & empathetic Director of People & Culture to join our team and serve as the business partner to the Guest Experience and Railroad Operations teams. In this role you will support and advocate for teammates in station, onboard, and within railroad operations & security. You will be challenged to think outside of the box, challenge the norm, and be part of building strong teammate relations.


The Director, People & Culture will be exposed to areas in talent development, work force planning, internal communications, planning, labor and teammate relations, training, and performance management. Initially, a big part of your day-to-day will be in relationship building onsite and in-person by meeting with our teammates as you build a deep understanding of the various areas of the business across multiple locations in South Florida (Miami, Aventura, Fort Lauderdale, Boca Raton, West Palm Beach) and Orlando.


Your Role:


  • Drive the design of organizational strategies and develop People solutions that will ultimately improve business results through lowering turnover, increasing retention, developing high-performing teams, etc.
  • Ensuring a strong leadership and learning culture permeates the organization. Provides expert advice and coaching to employees when appropriate. Encourage culture of engagement through regular communication, employee recognition and ongoing employee interactions.
  • Partner with business leaders to identify their teammate needs and team objectives and collaborate with the People & Culture leadership to build programs that meet those objectives.
  • Assist in the design and implementation of People policies and procedures to support the business and improve overall teammate experience.
  • Coach operations leadership on teammate relations matters to achieve problem resolution; including investigations, mediations, focus groups, and resolution of other teammate concerns as needed.
  • Serve as an empathetic advocate for teammates at all levels.


You:


  • Ability to travel up to 25% between multiple locations in South Florida (Miami, Aventura, Fort Lauderdale, Boca Raton, West Palm Beach) as well as Orlando, which may be heavier initially while relationships are built
  • Demonstrated ability to coach and counsel senior leadership
  • Experience in creative problem-solving, influencing, change management, and eliminating barriers at any organizational level
  • A solid understanding of all the key HR disciplines
  • Experience working within the hospitality, guest experience, transportation and/or operations sectors
  • Minimum 10 years of progressive corporate HR Business Partner / HR Generalist experience preferably within a fast-paced, 24/7 operations environment
  • Knowledge of federal and state labor and employment laws and regulations
  • Ability to work onsite across multiple operations-focused worksites
  • Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills
