With write ups in American Theatre, Playbill, and the New York Times, Hedgepig is a growing advocacy organization, calling for theatres and education programs to produce classic plays by women and underrepresented genders –– and solidify their legacy in the canon.

Hedgepig Ensemble Theatre is seeking a part-timeDirector of Outreach & Engagementto lead the growth strategy of its flagship program, Expand the Canon. This role is a leadership position that will help define, develop, and deepen relationships with Hedgepig’s artistic community and audience. They are passionate about the mission of the organization and believe advocacy work deserves to be supported and funded. This person will work closely with the Artistic and Managing Director to set and execute strategy leading to organizational growth.

This role is local to New York City and approximately 10 hours per week, flexible to your schedule.

They are eager to evangelize our mission, strategize, and have experience in community building and outreach. Roles & Responsibilities:

• Creating and executing communications to deepen industry relationships and create new partnerships
• Collaborating with Artistic and Managing Directors to research and implement marketing, growth, and revenue strategies, including subscription and membership plans
• Writing press releases and managing press outreach
• Sitting on the Board of Directors (with quarterly meetings) and chairing committees
• Providing oversight on community building activities
• Developing and maintaining industry and press contact lists
• Attending weekly meetings with the leadership team

Remuneration: Stipend of $700/month stipend for approximately 10 hours of work per week, which will increase in tandem with organizational success.
