Attention! Seeking an Outreach Coordinator for our New York Territory!
At Energy Infrastructure Partners, we believe innovation starts with the consumer.
Committed to the principles of Environmental Justice and workforce diversity, EIP works at the crossroads of resource efficiency programs, clean and renewable energy, and sustainability. We design and implement energy and water efficiency, renewable energy, and environmental justice programs for utilities and government. This approach has propelled our success in developing real-world solutions that impact people’s daily lives.
Energy Infrastructure Partners is searching for an outreach coordinator to join our program implementation team. In this role, you will recruit, train, and provide ongoing support to distributors, and other suppliers of energy efficient products participating in our program. The different program buys down the cost of energy-efficient products as an incentive for businesses to upgrade and reduce their energy consumption. To be clear, EIP does not sell the products; we implement energy efficiency and decarbonization programs for utility and government sponsors.
Are you an experienced sales professional with a knack for engaging with government entities? We are currently on the lookout for a proactive and results-oriented Outreach Coordinator to join our team. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for conducting full-time prospecting activities targeting county, municipal, and federal government customers. Your primary objectives will be to identify decision makers involved in facility retrofit projects, raise awareness about our program, and identify eligible projects for which we can offer attractive incentives. Additionally, you will have access to a comprehensive project database to pursue specific opportunities.
While technical expertise is not required, the ideal candidate will possess a proven track record of successfully selling to public sector customers. Your ability to navigate complex organizational structures to identify key stakeholders and decision-makers will be crucial to your success. We seek a self-motivated individual who is comfortable making numerous phone calls daily and possesses excellent communication skills to effectively explain our program to facilities directors, finance directors, and engineering directors at a high level.
Objectives of this Role
- Coordinate payment of incentive claims by manufacturers and distributors by assisting them in collecting and submitting the necessary product data and forms.
- Provide training and ongoing support to facilitate manufacturer and distributor participation and a positive end-use customer experience.
- Develop professional working relationships with a sufficient number of product distributors to meet program goals.
Daily and Monthly Responsibilities
- Participate in manufacturer, distributor, and Energy Trust of Oregon led events to promote the Business Lighting Program.
- Travel throughout Southern California to meet with lighting distributors.
- Conduct virtual and in-person meetings with each participating manufacturer and distributor quarterly.
- Conduct outreach to manufacturers and distributors to identify key decision makers and recruit their participation in the program.
- Deliver in-person and virtual training to manufacturer and distributor staff on eligible products, the incentive offer, and how to submit sales data for reimbursement of incentive claims.
- Conduct monthly phone, virtual, and in-person inspections to verify installation of products for which incentives are paid.
- Collaborate with program team members to co-create a presentation that outlines the benefits of participation and program processes, terms, and conditions.
Skills and Qualifications
- Strong sense of ethics and business acumen.
- Attention to detail in completing administrative processes (i.e., paperwork).
- Impeccable interpersonal and customer service skills.
- Experience and comfort with delivering presentations one-on-one and in group settings.
- Excellent problem-solving skills.
- Bachelor’s degree.
- Ability to work independently, while contributing to team-wide efforts.
Preferred Qualifications
- 2+ years of outreach experience, ideally as a manufacturer, distributor, or energy efficiency program representative.
- Familiarity with cold calling, being proactive in engaging potential partnerships
Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion
Workplace equity is not a single checkbox. It’s a new way of thinking, of working, and of moving through the world. As a Minority Owned Business Enterprise, EIP prioritizes diversity, equity, and inclusion. You’ll see this in our hiring practices, growth plans, and workplace programs—because our company, our work, and our society are better when diverse perspectives come together.
