Job Description

When you join PPGNY as the SVP Equity and Engagement you will be responsible for creating an overall plan and vision for the organization’s educational programs, outreach and community engagement initiatives that fulfill the organization’s mission and strategic plan.


Responsibilities Include:


  • Serve as a spokesperson for the organization in media, public forums, and events as needed
  • Oversee the development of overall plans and strategy for Education and Training, Community Engagement and Project Street Beat, including annual operational plans and budgets. Planning will include assessing the current programs, and developing new ones as needed to meet community needs and organizational goals within available resources.
  • Manage the Education and Training, Community Engagement and Project Street Beat departments, including direct supervision of all Vice Presidents, and support department leadership with achieving annuals goals and the strategic vision of the organization.
  • Ensure that PPGNY’s diversity, equity and inclusion are core principles and practices of PPGNY’s community engagement strategy and initiatives.
  • Create, implement and measure a comprehensive strategy for community engagement initiatives within and on behalf of PPGNY.
  • Position PPGNY as the preferred sexual and reproductive health partner of reproductive, social and economic justice organizations and collectives, by centering most impacted and amplifying Women of Color and LBGTQ leadership.
  • Optimize programmatic infrastructure to maximize participant/client outcomes, including the development of accountability systems for employees and partners.
  • Serve as member of the organization’s Senior Leadership Team participating in the development of overall policies, practices, strategic initiatives and long-range planning for PPGNY.


You have:


  • Must have strong management, writing and communication skills.
  • Experience in the development and/or implementation of health education and youth programs required. Experience in women’s reproductive health care/sexuality education preferred.
  • Deep knowledge and experience with social justice issues and equity frameworks in service delivery and organizational practice.
  • Master’s Degree in Education, Public Health or other related field.
  • Requires at least ten (10) years of related and/or applicable experience, including a minimum of seven (7) years in a supervisory capacity.


Compensaton:


  • $190,000-220,000

All positions at PPGNY require:


Proof of immunization or immunity to certain communicable diseases (including influenza during the flu season and Covid-19) and testing for tuberculosis. These certifications are required by the NYC DOHMH Health Code, NYSDOH and OSHA.
