Overview:

As a rapidly growing organization committed to building a culture of belonging, we are seeking a visionary to join our team as the Director of DEIBA, Employee Engagement, and Well-being. Reporting to the Chief Culture and Engagement Officer, the Director will work with the CEO’s Advisory Council on Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, Belonging and Access in our quest to achieve a component of our Vision 2026: BerryDunn has advanced community, diversity, and empathy in a workplace where everyone is respected, seen, and heard. In this role, you will develop operational plans and systematize DEIBA practices across the firm while working on the day-to-day management and execution of DEIBA, employee engagement and well-being programs. This is a unique opportunity to make a lasting impact and drive meaningful change within our firm and beyond. This position could be in any of our offices (Portland, ME, Bangor, ME, Waltham, MA, Manchester, NH, San Juan, PR, Charleston, WV, Hartford, CT, and Phoenix, AZ). Preference would be an office-based or hybrid arrangement. US-based fully remote is also a possibility.
Responsibilities:
How You’ll Help Our Team Succeed
  • Prepare internal communications on DEIBA, Engagement and Well-being topics. Work closely with designated point people and others to ensure firmwide consistency of internal messaging.
  • Ensure well-being initiatives align to the ability for employees to bring their whole selves to work, regardless of location, or work from anywhere arrangements.
  • Drive culture change work related to DEIBA
  • Act as a trusted advisor to people managers and senior leadership, enabling them to identify and implement opportunities for meaningful DEIBA engagement and outcomes.
  • Strengthen relationships with key external stakeholders focused on recruitment, professional development, rewards and recognition, and well-being.
  • Collaborate with our Recruiting team in developing and executing strategies to attract a broad candidate pool of qualified and diverse applicants.
  • Structure, design/strategize wellbeing programs in conjunction with the Well-being Manager and the Well-being Committee.
  • Execute DEIBA strategic priorities as outlined by the DEIBA Council. Consult with the DEIBA Council on strategy changes, improvements, and updates.
  • Support and develop direct-report team members (Manager, Employee Experience and Well-being Manager).
  • Develop meaningful and actionable metrics to measure progress towards goals.
  • Liaise with the DEIBA Council, maintaining a symbiotic relationship. This includes amplifying the council’s voice to ensure a broader representation of feedback as well as ensuring council activity aligns with strategic priorities, providing space for the council to engage in the solutions as appropriate.
  • Collaborate with internal business stakeholders for developing and submitting DEIBA related content for RFPs and client and industry surveys.
  • Develop an external DEIBA partnership strategy and serve as relationship manager with external diverse organizations.
  • Oversee firmwide DEIBA initiatives such as presentations and trainings, as well as events or experiential programs.
  • Identify and propose solutions to amplify employee engagement strengths and address engagement gaps in conjuction with the Manager, Employee Experience.
  • Serve as subject matter expert, staying abreast of trends and initiatives to enhance DEIBA, engagement and well-being on a firmwide basis.
  • Develop our DEIBA learning strategy and curriculum in collaboration with our learning and development team. Manages all aspects of these programs including development of learning materials and management of vendors, as necessary.
  • Provide guidance and support to our Employee Resource Groups (ERG) and work closely with executive sponsors and ERG leaders to ensure they have the proper resources so they can meet their objectives.
Qualifications:
What You’ll Need to Be Successful
  • Creativity, problem solver, ability to deal with ambiguity and uncertainty.
  • Ability to travel to offices and locations throughout the US and Puerto Rico approximately 1 to 2 times a quarter.
  • Diversity recruiting experience with a broad understanding of legal and compliance requirements.
  • Proven ability to engage and influence across the hierarchy of the organizations (C-Suite to front line staff).
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field required. Master’s degree preferred. Equivalent combination of education and experience can be substituted for educational requirements.
  • Experience in the development, delivery, and management of diversity-focused learning programs and events.
  • Familiarity with various human capital management systems and applicant tracking software.
  • 8 years of progressively responsible experience in leading diversity, equity, inclusion, and employee engagement work, preferably in a professional services or social services environment.
  • Comfortable working with remote teams.
  • Demonstrated excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong influencing skills.
  • Change agent, results and action oriented.
  • Working knowledge of MS Office.
  • Experience effectively managing and developing direct reports.
  • Experience in creating and reporting metrics.
  • DEIBA subject matter expertise and thought leadership.
  • Experience in conducting employee surveys, analyzing outcomes, and recommending solutions to address gaps. Must be able to communicate results at all levels of the organization.
Compensation Details:
The base salary range targeted for this role is $135,000 - $150,000. This salary range represents BerryDunn’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. If an applicant possesses experience, education, or other qualifications in excess of the minimum requirements for this posting, that applicant is encouraged to apply and a final salary range may then be based on those additional qualifications; compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, years of experience, depth of experience, seniority, merit, education, training, amount of travel, and other relevant business considerations.
