Director Of Construction - Remote | Wfh

Job Summary
We're looking for a talented Director of Construction to lead our newly created team responsible for upgrading and turning around our owned portfolio of multifamily residential properties. As the Director of Construction, you'll oversee all aspects of project management, procurement, and field construction operations to ensure our projects are completed on time, on budget, and to the highest quality and safety standards.
Responsibilities
Build a high-performing team of construction and project management, field operations, and support personnel
Lead the initial roll-out in the DFW market and expand to other Texas markets in year 2
Directly manage a team of project managers to consistently execute projects effectively and within budget
Oversee Construction Manager responsible for field team operations, including team allocations, scheduling, logistics, and consistent in-field execution
Manage, create, and uphold internal processes and general best practices
Manage planning and pipeline of upcoming work
Oversee multiple projects simultaneously
Manage project budgets, track expenses, and complete timely project closeout
Inspect job sites to ensure quality construction standards, the use of proper construction techniques, and job safety
Develop follow-up plans of action for critical items in coordination with ownership and management companies
Follow up with stakeholders for project satisfaction and improvement opportunities
Respond to property, vendor, and team RFIs
Manage vendor onboarding, insurance, lien waivers, and volume projections/planning
Prepare internal and external reports pertaining to job status
Qualifications
Other responsibilities as assigned
At least 7 years of construction management experience
Strong multi-family construction experience
Field operations, procurement, and project management experience
Strong network of field and management connections to assist in building a new team
Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment
Based in TX- preferably greater DFW, Austin, or Houston
Multi-state travel required
Bilingual English and Spanish speaker preferred, not mandatory
