Key Responsibilities
Strategic Communications (30%)
Collaborate with staff, consortium members, and contractors to develop and implement integrated strategic communications plans.
Utilize various communication channels, including social media, written materials, and visual presentations, to publicize and promote our organization.
Advise on brand development, messaging, and policy interpretation to ensure consistent and impactful communication.
Supervision and Program Administration (50%)
Oversee comprehensive communications programs and projects, ensuring smooth operations and adherence to brand guidelines.
Evaluate and select communication vendors, ensuring high-quality services are delivered.
Champion Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Accessibility (DEIA) initiatives to create a more effective and inclusive organization.
Public and Media Relations (20%)
Proactively identify communication needs and develop strategies to engage stakeholders effectively.
Serve as the primary point of contact for media relations and manage reports of test security breaches.
Develop informational materials to inform stakeholders about our initiatives and programs.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in communications, journalism, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
Strong knowledge of various communication channels and their technical requirements.
Experience in developing and implementing strategic communications plans.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage diverse audiences.
Proven supervisory experience and the ability to motivate and lead a team effectively.
Familiarity with current affairs and influential actors in the field of education.
Strong project management skills, with the ability to deliver high-quality work within budget and time constraints.
Understanding of accessibility and communication methods that support Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Accessibility (DEIA).
Preferred Qualifications
Project Management Professional (PMP) or similar certification.
Accreditation in Public Relations (APR) or similar.
Familiarity with Agile methodologies or Certified Scrum Master (CSM) certification.
We offer a competitive salary range of $84,200 - $143,000 per year, commensurate with qualifications and experience. As a remote position, you'll enjoy the flexibility of working from your home office, in accordance with our telecommuting agreement. Occasional travel may be required (up to 25% of the time) to support our programs and initiatives.
