About the Job:
The Director, MRO Procurement will have the primary responsibility for directing the non-freight procurement and purchasing operations and strategy to provide the materials and services to meet organizational requirements for quality, volume, availability, and pricing. Evaluates and develops strategic supplier relationships, negotiates contracts, and implements systems for monitoring performance, assessing risk, and responding to changes throughout the organization. The Director will be responsible for representing Odyssey to the vendors in an ethical and professional manner.
In This Role, You Will:
- Collaborate with key stakeholders to develop procurement strategies that support business objectives; determine which procurement activities should be conducted at the corporate level vs. within the business units.
- Develop procurement policies and procedures that support organizational goals and objectives.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations related to procurement.
- Analyze procurement data to identify trends, opportunities for improvement, and cost savings.
- Create an effective preferred supplier program and installation of organizational discipline on onboarding new vendors.
- Integrate the procurement functions for acquired companies, and rapidly leveraging the added volume.
- Identify opportunities to leverage purchasing power across the Odyssey platform and negotiate favorable contracts and pricing with vendors.
- Provide leadership, guidance, and training to procurement staff to ensure high-quality work and professional development opportunities.
- Develop and implement forward thinking procurement strategies, including the use of 3rd parties, to both optimize spending and minimize risk and generate savings.
- Manage the procurement process, including soliciting bids, negotiating contracts, and ensuring timely delivery of goods and services.
- Develop and publish relevant metrics and KPI’s to measure performance.
- Oversee vendor relationships and monitor vendor performance to ensure adherence to contract terms.
- Ensure the procurement process is transparent and well-documented, including approval requirements and purchasing limits.
- Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers, ensuring continuity of supply and quality of products.
Qualifications

Required:
- Strong organizational skills and time management.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel and Word.
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Minimum of 5 + years’ experience in a procurement role with managerial responsibility.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities at any given time.
- Ability to analyze, define, diagnose, and resolve problems based on sound logic and rationale.
- Ability to work in a team and/or without direct supervision.
- Bachelor’s degree is required.
Desired:
- Experience with Oracle Cloud Financials is preferred.
- A bachelor’s degree in business administration, supply chain management, or related field is preferred.
Location: This is a hybrid role based in Charlotte, NC.
