Partnered with an IPP with a long-term investment in the mitigation of climate change we are looking to identify a Global Procurement Director.

This role could be based anywhere within the US/UK/Europe overseeing a portfolio of Solar, Battery Storage and Wind projects across Europe, Asia and North America.

We are partnered with a prominent Independent Power Producer (IPP) with a pipeline of over 6GW in renewable energy projects worldwide, who are dedicated to driving sustainable development and transforming the energy sector.

Partnered with a a leading IPP with a substantial portfolio of over 6GW in renewable energy projects in development, permitting, and construction, in addition to 1GW already in operation. With a long-term vision and a strong commitment to climate change mitigation, they are at the forefront of driving sustainable development in the energy sector.

We are currently seeking a highly qualified and experienced Global Procurement Director to join the team in this newly created role.

In this role, you will be responsible for managing the procurement of components for solar, battery storage, and wind projects across North America, Europe, and Asia with a focus on invertors, modules, batteries, transformers and trackers.

With a deep understanding of long-term contracts in the US, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of their procurement activities.

Key Responsibilities:

• Build and manage a high-performing procurement team, fostering a culture of collaboration and excellence.
• Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and industry standards.
• Stay abreast of market trends, technological advancements, and regulatory developments in the renewable energy industry.
• Develop and implement robust contract management processes, with a particular focus on long-term contracts in the US.
• Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to align procurement activities with project timelines and requirements.
• Develop and execute a comprehensive procurement strategy for solar, battery storage, and wind projects across multiple regions.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, negotiating favourable terms and conditions.
• Lead and oversee the purchasing process, ensuring timely and cost-effective procurement of components.
• Provide strategic guidance to senior leadership on procurement-related matters.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Demonstrated ability to build and maintain relationships with suppliers and stakeholders.
• Experience in managing procurement activities across multiple regions.
• Deep understanding of procurement processes and best practices in solar, battery storage, and wind projects.
• Proven experience in a senior procurement leadership role, preferably within the renewable energy industry.
• Strong negotiation and contract management skills.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
• Bachelor's or master's degree in a relevant field.
• Extensive knowledge of long-term contracts and procurement regulations in the US.

Location:

This role can be based in either North America or Europe, providing flexibility for the successful candidate.
