Launched in 2022, the Global Retirement Initiative works to sharpen our understanding of retirement and identify more ways for BlackRock to help our clients.
The Retirement Initiative is global in scale, bringing together the insights of our client, investment, and product teams around the world. It leverages our collective knowledge of the dozens of markets where we already participate in retirement systems and our deep understanding of financial markets. Ultimately, this work will inform our client, product, and investment teams as they design more customized solutions tailored to each market. The initiative partners globally and across functions, with partner teams spanning from country teams, investments and BII to marketing and communications.
We are seeking an experienced professional to join this initiative as a team lead and core contributor.
Responsibilities
  • Work with the head of the Global Retirement Initiative, senior management, and business unit leaders to determine strategic objectives and identify opportunities to accelerate the firm’s commercial momentum and thought leadership around retirement
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with many teams at BlackRock to hone the strategy (client channels, investment teams, product channels) and ensure the initiative’s priorities are clearly communicated and regularly cascaded
  • Support the head of the initiative and senior management in the preparation of leadership conferences and client engagements
  • Participate in the development of new approaches, solutions, and products that meet client needs
  • Direct, oversee, and mentor a high-performing team of strategy and execution professionals
  • Develop the initiative’s priorities and agenda and manage internal and external stakeholder engagement
  • Communicate strategic priorities and execution plans across the firm via presentations, meetings, written communications, etc.

Qualifications
  • Familiarity with global retirement-related problems, including but not limited to the topics of wealth and income inequality, demographics, pensions, and insurance
  • Ability to clearly articulate ideas to internal and external audiences across levels of seniority in both written and oral presentations
  • 5+ years of relevant work experience, most likely in asset management or economic/ management consulting
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills; strategic and creative thinking aptitude
  • Ability to deliver in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines and multiple demands
  • Ability to work effectively at all levels of an organization and build strong relationships with team members, managers, and senior executives in multiple locations
  • Bachelor’s or equivalent degree with strong record of academic achievement
For New York City only: The salary range for this position is $142,500 - $190,000. Additionally, employees are eligible for an annual discretionary bonus, and benefits including heath care, leave benefits, and retirement benefits. BlackRock operates a pay-for-performance compensation philosophy and your total compensation may vary based on role, location, and firm, department and individual performance.

Our hybrid work model
