On the Research and Development team, your role is crucial in building and developing the business. Your job will be to understand a complex and dynamic marketplace where changing legislation, product supply and demand, and client requirements create new market opportunities. In this all-encompassing role, you will research new products to capture market opportunities, prospect new potential clients, and foster client relationships.

What You'll Do

• Lead components of project delivery, under guidance from management and traders
• Gather market data and policy information to identify industry trends and develop strategic insights
• Liaise with traders to ensure and maintain current knowledge of major drivers and trends across renewable energy, carbon, and biofuels markets
• Attend conferences and exhibitions to keep abreast of the latest policy developments and where appropriate make presentations
• Conduct in-depth market analysis of biofuel/feedstock commodity markets
• Assist in identifying new sources of business to develop new trading desks or new ways of trading products
• Oversee US R&D team and be responsible for training team members, setting strategy and monitoring progress towards goals
• Collaborate with existing R&D member on efforts in the North American business
• Research and review legislation to understand the requirements/incentives for biofuel production/blending/consumption

Who You Are

• Motivated and pragmatic individual who goes off the beaten path
• 8-12 years of experience of market-based knowledge in commodities and capital-based markets
• Aptitude for taking initiative, a commercial and creative mind with an entrepreneurial attitude
• History of research in legislative components to commodities and capital-based markets as well as specific market fundamentals related to supply and demand
• Experience in structuring and developing new products or markets in conjunction with front office
• Intellectually curious and able to demonstrate structured problem solving and analytical skills
• Proven work experience as a team leader or supervisor
• Excellent communication and leadership skills

Please note this role is 100% in-office in New York City

Salary Range: $185,000-$225,000 + lucrative bonus
