Job Description
Position Summary
Clinique is looking for an Executive Director, Global Social Media & Content Strategy who has a strategic vision to move the brand to leadership and has a passion for beauty. Candidates should have expertise in 2 key areas:
  • Social Media: The ideal candidate will have a profound understanding of social media marketing and how to drive to leadership and industry disruption across social media platforms with a forward-thinking mindset, creativity & consumer insights at the forefront of everything they do. This cross-functional role is responsible for leveraging Clinique’s heritage, creativity, and product innovation to build global programs that elevate the brand and drive business goals.
  • Content Strategy: This person will play a pivotal role in ensuring integration across site, Social, Email and Media. They will act as a highly cross-functional team player and will lead the effort to support business priorities by delivering innovative creative content against key strategic initiatives across owned, earned, and paid channels.
Responsibilities/Duties
This Head of Social & Content Strategy will be responsible for:
Social Media Leadership
  • Monitor trends in social media tools, applications, channels, and competitors to ensure Clinique is at the forefront of new technologies and innovations.
  • Design repeatable, marketable frameworks and solutions for:
  • Create a center of excellence and drive leadership of Clinique’s key global social platforms: Instagram, TikTok, Snapchat in close partnership with the global creative and regional consumer engagement teams.
  • Delivering data-driven insights to inform content, production, and distribution.
  • Develop strong relationships with key platforms to drive innovation and get first to market opportunities.
  • Push Clinique into new and emerging areas of social media while enhancing and elevating campaign activations.
  • Building best-in-class, fit for the platform/channel integrations and executions.
  • Manage monthly and quarterly social reporting processes to create actionable insights; integrate social data into broader digital marketing briefs to ensure data-driven content decisions.
Content Strategy Leadership
  • Develop the content strategy for original content that supports brand and marketing objectives across paid, organic, Skin School, site & email working closely with the online teams.
  • Develop editorial content for the site as a go-to destination for consumers and a driver of SEO for brand.com.
  • Collaborate and consolidating all content requirements for channels.
  • Unify data, technology, media, and strategy to redefine how we create, optimize, and distribute content and experiences.
  • Partner with the social media team and the Go-To-Market team to support creation of new content formats - AR, video, VR, virtual experiences etc.
Mentoring And Managing a Team
  • Build strong relationships with global creative, regional consumer engagement teams for social media advancement.
  • Work closely with the online team for content strategies as well as social and global creative.
  • Directly manage a team of social media and content experts to drive excellence in both areas.
Qualifications
  • Excellent editorial/creative judgment, writing skills and ability to capture Clinique’s voice to reach both new and legacy consumers.
  • 8+ years of relevant experience managing social media for a large consumer brand, agency, or media publisher.
  • Exceptional leadership skills to grow, build, and retain a talented team of social media professionals.
  • Impeccable attention to detail.
  • 4-year bachelor’s degree required.
  • Pro-active problem solver and critical, creative thinking a must.
  • Confident, collaborative, and communicative with a desire to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proven experience hitting key social KPIs.
  • Agency background a plus.
The anticipated base salary range for this position is $149,500 to $257,000. Exact salary depends on several factors such as experience, skills, education, and budget. Salary range may vary based on geographic location. In addition to base salary, this position is eligible for participation in a highly competitive bonus program with possibility for overachievement based on performance and company results as well as participation in the share incentive plan.
