Position Overview:

As a part of Mastercard’s Integrated Marketing and Communication organization, the Global Marketing Product & Engineering (P&E) team partners with the Product organization and is accountable for end-to-end B2B2C, B2B & product marketing. This includes leveraging consumer insights and market knowledge to help identify, test, and refine product concepts, positioning and packaging; developing sales enablement and b2b2c tools; and developing, executing, and scaling marketing plans globally. The Director Global Marketing is member of the larger Global Marketing team P&E and works closely with the product & engineering team with a focus on Open Banking. The Director Global B2B & Product Marketing provides product marketing support for core products, commercial card solutions for our internal stakeholders worldwide. This role reports to the Vice President Global Marketing Open Banking and is accountable for developing product value propositions, portfolio optimization and product marketing strategies. The Director Product Marketing serves as the voice of the stakeholder by partnering with the product and Sales teams to develop compelling event concepts, organize customer forum and to create marketing solutions for customers, leverage Mastercard’s assets and marketing platforms and deliver a consistent and differentiated stakeholder experience.

Responsibilities
Be the resident marketing expert for assigned Open Banking product & solutions
Leverage market intelligence about card usage trends and competitors’ products as well as product knowledge of Mastercard products to identify new opportunities
Collaborate with Communications specialists and develop product collateral and other sales tools to be used by the sales teams and B2B & Product marketing
Work closely with the product & innovation teams and B2B marketing to develop launch strategies for new products
Participate in sales meetings with the sales teams
Evaluate accomplishment of objectives using metrics defined for measuring marketing effectiveness
Recommends, and oversees execution of Product Marketing strategies (including management of all materials and content) to drive adoption and usage; may include developing a global template to influence regional strategies
Crafts and recommends product value propositions that are Customer-centric, consumer-led if applicable, crisp and competitively positioned
Translates high-level direction into desired specifications for effective and scalable sales materials and packaging/wrappers for products and bundles
Recommends a consumer/customer testing plan for concepts and prototypes
Steers integration of product programs with marketing platforms and vice-versa
Experiences
Demonstrated success in developing compelling value propositions, robust positioning and inspiring narratives for product, solutions and the business
Demonstrated ability to successfully integrate marketing assets with products and product platforms
Experience identifying research needs for a qualitative or quantitative study resulting in ability to represent the voice of the customer
Experience working in multiple areas of the Marketing function
Led complex cross-functional projects locally
Demonstrated success building relationships and delivering results with global, multi-cultural and remote project teams
Demonstrated ability to build relationships with external stakeholders at the local/ regional level
Experienced in event management, organization and execution of customer forums
Preferred: Expertise in a particular industry vertical or payment industry.
Preferred: expertise of US and EU cultural and payment industry specifics
Skills and Education:
Bachelor’s degree required; MBA preferred.
Strategic mindset with ability to make quick decisions in challenging, ambiguous situations.
Demonstrated creativity, curiosity and rapid learning on new competitors, technologies, products and ways of marketing
Creative and agile, with a can-do spirit and start up mindset.
Strong leadership and standing, brilliant interpersonal, written and oral communication skills

Must be results driven, solutions and customer focused.
Solid understanding of global markets from a language, cultural, regulatory, and infrastructure POV

Influencer skills for a cross-matrix organization
Proven ability to build collaborative working relationships with external stakeholders at the global/regional or local level
