Director of Data & Analytics Platforms & Marketing Technologies
Position location: The Woodlands, TX (Relo provided)
Overview: The Director of Data & Analytics Platforms and Marketing Technologies is responsible for strategy, planning, solution architecture, engineering development, and delivery for data, analytics, and marketing technologies to support strategic initiatives for growing and enhancing the Conn’s HomePlus business. Reporting to the Chief Technology Officer, the scope of the role includes developing and supporting technology solutions such as Data Platforms, Enterprise Data Warehouse, Analytics Tools, dashboards and reporting, master data management, Customer Data Platforms, Customer Relationship Management system, and other marketing technologies.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
· Develop the strategy and plan for delivering data platforms and technology solutions for all Data & Analytics, Marketing, and Customer Communication needs across the Conn’s HomePlus business functions.
· Drive transformational change by modernizing and scaling data platforms and analytics tool to support analytics teams across all business functions.
· Lead the design, development, implementation, and maintenance of scalable data pipelines and processes to support all data and analytics needs for the enterprise.
· Lead team of Data Architecture and Engineering resources for collecting, integrating, and transforming data from many difference sources into centralized data platform and data marts.
· Develop and enforce best practices for data engineering, including coding standards, documentation, and quality assurance processes.
· Working with marketing and sales teams, develop and implements marketing technology strategy to optimize customer and business outcomes.
· Architect, implement and support our enterprise marketing systems, customer communications technologies, and customer data platform to support the customer journey and improve customer engagement and sales.
· Serve as a strategic partner to cross-functional business teams to support analytics and marketing needs.
· Work with businesses, assessing opportunities and risks, to help realize their tactical and strategic objectives.
· Follow trends in technology and new solutions.
· Build and Foster high performing agile teams including working with technology vendors and partners.
· Develop and manage strategic vendor and partnership relationships; negotiating contracts and agreements as needed.
· Manage procurement process and financial budget and forecasts for department.
Required Experience
· Bachelor's Degree in computer science, mathematics or statistics, software engineering, information technology or a related field.
· Minimum of 10 years in IT which includes five to seven years of leadership responsibilities in a data & analytics technologies.
· Minimum of 5 years managing multiple, large, cross-functional teams or projects, and influencing senior-level management and key stakeholders.
· Experience in marketing technologies (MarTech) and customer data and communication platforms.
· Experience in master data management.
· Prior software engineering and data engineering experience.
· Experience with cloud data platforms such as Snowflake or Big Query.
· Experience working in retail or other B2C industries.
Skills & Abilities
· Solid programing skills, statistical knowledge, analytical skills, and understanding of big data technologies.
· Understanding of database design and architecture, data transformation, data ingestion, data mining, data warehouse, data visualization and cloud computing.
· Understanding of machine learning algorithms and artificial intelligence (AI).
· Strong problem solving and analytical capabilities.
· Strong collaboration and negotiation skills and experience working with multiple stakeholders to effectively manage requirements and requests.
· Ability to successfully manage multiple concurrent objectives or activities, and effectively make decisions to prioritize tasks and allocate time given evolving business priorities.
· Ability to work well with others, harness different skills and experience, and build a strong sense of team spirit.
· Ability to work in a multi-site environment and willingness to travel to other offices as required.
· Experience in budget planning, financial management and resource management.
· Broad knowledge of current and emerging technologies, technology directions and strategic application to business needs.
· Project management skills, including the ability to effectively deploy resources and manage multiple projects of diverse scopes in a cross-functional environment.
· Excellent oral and written communication skills, including the ability to explain technology solutions in business terms, establish rapport and persuade others.
· Organized and detail-oriented.
· Able to multi-task and shift priorities, as required.
