Our client is seeking a Director of Operational Finance to oversee a greenfield EPC project with a budget exceeding one billion dollars. The preferred candidate should possess expertise in managing the financial and operational aspects of significant capital projects.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Manage client audit requirement and other commercial or statutory audit requirements.
• Work closely with the regional Tax and Treasury Manager to ensure full compliance with all relevant tax laws. Responsible for the books and records of the project.
• Provides financial input regarding labor costs, overheads and other projects costs for all material bids and tenders, and advice regarding appropriate contractual commercial terms and conditions, including FX, Tax, and credit implications
• Responsible for all project balance sheet reconciliations
• Direct the project invoicing function and ensure timely and accurate billings; Steward ongoing cash forecasting; upholds strong, visible credit risk management, including Identification and management of financial and treasury risk
• Responsible for more complex projects and ad hoc analysis. Designs financial models, scenarios and sensitivities for projects. Advises on the design and application of models
• Ensures alignment of the project controls and finance function.
• Manages the working capital of the project.
• Day to Day finance partner to the Project Director and Delivery Service Director
• Responsible for delivering consistent, accurate and timely management information (financial and statistical) to all key stakeholders for decision making purposes
• Team management of all Project finance staff, including establishing objectives/goals/training/recruit.
• Oversight of the planning, directing, and coordinating of the Project Finance function. Communicates regularly with Project Managers and Project Controls staff to ensure accurate and timely customer invoicing and up-to-date project financial information
• Works closely with project partners and related parties.

Experience and Qualifications

• Engineering, consulting, and construction experience on 1b+ projects
• Experience leading and supervising financial teams, proven management skills
• Bachelor’s in accounting or Finance
• Exceptional technical and analytical accounting skills, specifically in the areas or financial modelling, analysis, and reporting
• MBA or CPA preferred
• Relevant years of post-qualification experience.
• Experience as a strategic business partner to operational teams across the business; has provided commercial support and analysis related to ongoing or potential business activities and contract negotiations
• Requires a self-starter with firm decision-making skills and relevant of significant financial experience.
