Job Description

What You Will Do


As the Director, Customer Strategy, you will be responsible for driving strategic initiatives to optimize customer engagement and overall brand performance. You will play a crucial role in developing and executing customer-focused strategies that align with the company’s objectives and drive growth in a competitive market landscape. The role requires a strong blend of analytical, creative, financial, and leadership skills to ensure success in meeting goals and delivering exceptional customer experiences.


The incumbent will be required to provide input into the S&OP process by helping to shape and drive internal alignment to one financial number across commercial, marketing, and finance. The incumbent provides inputs to help shape and set financial targets and investment/resource allocations to inform customer-specific JBP negotiations, including but not limited to budgeting, strategic initiatives, retailer “asks,” retailer-specific innovation, and any other support activities. Additionally, the incumbent will help lead the joint and annual business planning process to drive category growth, both in-store and online.


This person needs to be effective in influencing marketing and brand strategies while being a source of retailer and competitive insights for their partners and customers. This individual will be responsible for driving results through a team of multiple direct reports. This individual will be responsible for coaching and talent development.


Key Responsibilities

  • Assesses omnichannel marketplace performance to identify category opportunities or risks and leads the development of recommendations to optimize category investments for business growth
  • With strong cross-functional collaboration, translate inputs from the annual operating plan to develop and set national channel and retailer strategy
  • Serves as the business planning lead for connecting demand planning with customer planning to generate aligned forecast
  • Helps to set strategic direction for building annual operating plans including new product innovation launch plans, pricing, other commercial levers, and ensures excellent execution through team and customers
  • With strategic account leads and senior management within the organization, supports the co-development of new products or other retailer-specific category-driving opportunities

· Develop retailer-specific pricing and promotion guidelines that deliver on brand objectives while driving profitable growth

  • Effectively manage the P&L to deliver profitable growth
  • Be the primary liaison between the marketing and customer teams; influence and support the appropriate tools and capabilities needed to develop brand selling
  • Helps to develop an annual omnichannel plan grounded in No7’s three-year operating plan to shape both short and long-term innovation & business strategies and commercialize best-in-class recommendations to achieve growth targets


Abilities

  • Ability to develop and oversee the execution of project plans and to implement, execute and draw conclusions from a variety of customer, shopper, and category studies.
  • Ability to devise and deliver persuasive presentations, based on data-driven insights and facts, to gain support for business strategies and/or initiatives.
  • Ability to work effectively within a fast-paced, complex matrix, changing environment.
  • Ability to effectively communicate and collaborate across all functions in the organization. Strong presentation skills and ability to tailor skills and presentation style to a variety of key decision-makers.
  • Ability to influence decision-makers up and down two or more levels, with and without direct authority, to ensure a fully aligned customer/category/company business plan.


· · Bachelor’s degree required

· 7 to 10 years of relevant experience in CPG/beauty companies

· Demonstrates commercial acumen, with a positive “can-do” mindset

· Demonstrates interpersonal communication, customer service, and analytical skills

· Ability to interact face-to-face with Senior Management, Cross Functional, and International colleagues

· Interest in beauty

· Thrives in a fast-paced environment; flexibility to adapt to changes in shifting priorities

· Hands-on attitude with a bias for action and solving problems

· Able to build strong working relationships across levels, geographies, and functions
