Director, Corporate Development And Finance

JOB PURPOSE

This position is responsible to direct or support the execution of project finance, tax equity, M&A, project development, corporate development and/or corporate finance transactions. Depending on the size and scope of the transaction, the position may report to a senior transaction lead; or serve as day-to-day transaction lead.

Responsibilities include:

• Present analyses and recommendations to management to support investment decisions
• Supervise and manage junior team members.
• Execution of M&A transactions, construction financings, term conversion and operating term refinancings. Requires negotiation of key components of principal and ancilliary M&A and/or financing documents as well as coordination with / management of internal stakeholders (within the finance group and within other departments) and external stakeholders (advisors, counterparties, parties, lenders, tax equity, third party consultants and legal advisors).
• Provide guidance and mentorship to the financial analyst and ancillarty finance functions (finance administration and treasury)

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

• 10+ years of relevant experience
  • Experience in renewable energy or power project finance, tax equity, private equity, corporate M&A, power or renewable project development or investment banking strongly preferred, coupled with the practical requirements of moving transactions through the execution stages to closing and beyond.

• Ability to cultivate and maintain a strong network of professional relationships across the industry
• Strong commercial skills required, including ability to recognize primary value and risk drivers within transactions, and negotiate responsive commercial and financial arrangements that maximize value to the company while ensuring appropriate risk exposure
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Mathematics, Engineering, Economics or related area; MBA a plus
• Ability to work in a results-oriented, project-driven, real-time team environment. Ability to prioritize multiple projects and deliver quality results within tight time constraints
• Ability to lead and manage people and leverage personal expertise and experience across teams of employees under direct management
