YOUR ROLE
The Brand Director we seek will be responsible for overseeing the planning, development & execution of new products and strategic marketing initiatives to increase the value and performance of the SexyHair trend-driven brand. They must understand the importance of positioning and how to clearly articulate positioning through multiple mediums and unique channels. They are responsible for understanding customer & market insights, creating strategic brand plans and oversee the management of the brand portfolio to support sustainable, profitable growth for SexyHair.
Market Analysis & Research
- Identify market/channel opportunities where there are unmet needs
- Gain understanding of current and future market trends & dynamics
Brand Plan Development
- Financial planning/ budgeting
- Campaign strategies
- Driving demand (inclusive of innovation, promotional strategies)
- Coaches, inspires and builds marketing capabilities. Acts as a role-model in growth behaviors and leadership behaviors
- Creation of vision/positioning & messaging
- Develop a brand plan for SexyHair and sublines that supports sustainable, profitable growth and achieves company goals/targets:
- Target market segments
- Competitive analysis & trend management
Portfolio Management
- Analyze historical sales data and customer insights to determine a successful product portfolio
- Acts as a thought leader around brand or category innovation, develop new means for stimulating creativity, insight collection or idea generation leading to new insights and product concepts
- Program management: oversee day-to-day logistics of brand programs; own timeline management, program analysis and budget
- Manage new product forecasts with key Demand Planning partners
- Manage portfolio artwork updates with regulatory and supply chain teams
- Manage the go-to market stage gate process with all cross-functional teams
- Innovation: manage the creation, development, and execution of new products
Public Relations
- Managing day-to-day communication with third party public relation agency
- Support creation of yearly public relations strategy and initiative development
- Manage monthly budget and accruals
YOUR SKILLS
- Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
- Creative, collaborative Thinker
- Proven ability to manage and develop a marketing team
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Office & PowerPoint
- 10% travel, mainly to retail/distribution, retailer meetings and sales conferences
- Persuasive communication skills and ability to develop materials for corporate strategy and business review meetings
- 8+ years of marketing/product development experience, beauty industry preferred
- The ability to problem solve and think strategically/analytically
- Self-motivating with an elevated level of passion and assertiveness
- Knowledge of and the ability to use basic financial analysis (e.g. return on investment, value chain analysis) related to marketing effectiveness, resource allocations and new business opportunities is needed
- Passion for the beauty/fashion industry
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Business or Marketing

The salary for this role is $135,000.00 - $160,000.00. This is the range that we in good faith anticipate relying on when setting wages for this position. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range and this range. This salary range may also be modified in the future.
