Job Description
Position Summary:
As a member of the Desktop Support team, the position is responsible for the daily operations of the service and reports directly to the Manager of Desktop Support. This role will engage and support Steinhardt’s vast community across 11 academic departments, 12 administrative offices, and 8 research centers. This role will provide support to the Steinhardt community in all their computing needs with professionalism and empathy.

The Desktop Support team is responsible for the setup, deployment, maintenance, and troubleshooting, of over 2,250 endpoint machines. Within this structure, this role will be responsible for, but not limited to, computer imaging with endpoint management tools, troubleshooting software and imaging errors as well as hardware failures, tracking and maintaining hardware inventory, performing maintenance and hardware upgrades, advising the Steinhardt community on technology related services available and the effective usage of their technology; responsible for QA of all technical procedures to ensure the highest quality end product and future improvements.
Qualifications:
Required Education:
Bachelor's Degree

Required Experience:
2+ years of relevant experience analyzing hardware, software and system's performance, providing technical support including troubleshooting to resolve problems with hardware and software applications, providing training to non- technical users and staff supervision or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Preferred Experience:

Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills. Familiarity with troubleshooting both Mac and PC endpoints. Familiarity with a wide range of smart devices. Familiarity with common software regarding emails, word processing, web browsers, etc. Ability to maintain composure in a dynamic and fast pace environment.

Preferred Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
Must be knowledgeable with relevant hardware, software and other technologies. Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment. Must be able to multitask. Excellent communication skills and customer service skills.
Additional Information:
In compliance with NYC's Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary range for this position is USD $67,500.00 to USD $82,500.00. New York University considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as, market and organizational considerations when extending an offer. This pay range represents base pay only and excludes any additional items such as incentives, bonuses, clinical compensation, or other items.
