Customer and Field Development Manager, Dermocosmetic Skincare


This position reports into the Senior National Sales Manager, Dermocosmetic Skincare and is based in Skillman, NJ with a flexible hybrid work option. Remote work options may be considered on a case-by-case basis and if approved by the Company.

What will you do


Are you a skincare enthusiast interested in working on a fast-paced, innovative, and collaborative team to grow highly efficacious and world-renowned beauty brands? Then the Customer and Field Development Manager (CFDM), Dermocosmetic Skincare role is the job for you! The CFDM leads the customer relationship and selling responsibilities for the Exuviance business at ULTA, while also leading and developing a large-scale National Field Sales Team that calls on ULTA beauty stores for Exuviance, Neutrogena & Aveeno brands.


The CFDM develops and implements joint business plans that align to ULTA’s category and Kenvue’s brand growth strategies. The CFDM monitors key business metrics to track progress and adjusts the 4Ps and field sales activation plans as needed to deliver annual quotas.


Additionally, the CFDM uses business analytics to influence ULTA and company decision making at senior management levels. The CFDM leads creating impactful, insight-based presentations to translate sales objectives into customer strategy. The CFDM will also be the voice of the customer and the national field sales team to influence internal brand plans/strategies to secure the resources to unlock distribution, merchandising, and promotion plans that deliver growth.


The CFDM is responsible for aligning Exuviance, Neutrogena & Aveeno business plans into highly impactful national in-store activations for ULTA guests as well as meaningful engagements with ULTA store associates. This includes shopper events, training & education seminars, samples and GWP programs that surprise and delight the ULTA shopper.


The CFDM leads the overall in-store support strategy executed via the field sales team of 16 Retail Account Executives and approximately 150 freelance sales support staff. The CFDM partners with the field team on regular basis to uncover and create field sales support materials. The CFDM aligns the in-store support strategy with national brand marketing plans and key promotional periods. THE CFDM ensures high ROI and accurate budget management on all expenses associated with the field team, i.e., call cycle and in-store events.


Key Responsibilities- Customer Facing Duties-


  • Create highly impactful planogram and off-shelf displays designed to drive shipments/consumption while also educating guests on the Exuviance brand.
  • Responsible for accurately tracking trade promotion, BME and SG&A budgets and strives for an optimal return on investment and ensures internal/external alignment, while growing and maintaining relationships with key business partners.
  • Core responsibilities include but are not limited to- developing and carrying out business plans to deliver sales results, including enhancing volume potential, increasing merchandising effectiveness, growth of product group(s) and brand share.
  • This role is accountable for achieving annual omni-channel shipment, consumption and share goals and growth.
  • Assist National Sales Leader when needed with New Business Development opportunities for Dermocosmetic beauty brands.
Field Sales Leadership-


  • Responsible for leading and implementing impactful National Field Sales meetings and ULTA Field Leadership Conference vendor booth experience.
  • Responsible for ensuring third-party beauty advisors and field sales team are provided with tools needed to achieve consumption and in-store activation goals.
  • Partners with finance, leadership and legal to create impactful field incentive programs designed to motivate field sales team to achieve consumption goals.
  • Responsible for growing and developing a team of 16 Account Executives and 2 Regional Business Executives


Required Qualifications-


  • A minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience, with 3 years of beauty experience.
  • A minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Marketing, or related field is required.
  • A minimum of 2 years as a people leader.
  • Ability to prioritize and to successfully lead multiple projects/initiatives.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build relationships.
  • Strong analytical / computer skills, including MS Office Suite applications, sales database, and web applications is a requirement.
  • Ability to work in a highly cross-functional environment and to interpret, communicate and negotiate complex business situations.


Preferred Qualifications-


  • Experience leading national sales teams that use third-party beauty advisors.
  • Experience collaborating with Shopper Media & Marketing.
  • Dermocosmetic and/or specialty beauty retailer experience highly preferred.
  • Experience leading digital/ecommerce strategies.
  • Sales and/or training experience in ULTA beauty and/or other specialty beauty retailers.
Other-


  • Role requires up to 25% domestic travel.
  • Must have valid driver's license.

The anticipated base pay range for this position is $97,000 - $167,750
