Crocs is seeking a Manager, Data Engineering to manage a team of data engineers whose primary responsibility is to develop, test, and maintain source acquisition pipelines within the Azure platform and Snowflake. This position will help to enable the Crocs Enterprise to make quick data-driven decisions the propel the business forward. The Manager, Data Engineering role will work independently, with their own team, within the back-end team, and with the front-end analytics team to help facilitate the usage of more sophisticated analytics/data.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Customer Facing – Represent data engineering in the conversations with the Crocs business community and/or the front-end analytics team and support these teams in forming a technical solution for new data developments or enhancements of the existing flows
- Explore opportunities to improve system performance
- Ensure system patching is kept up to date and drives upgrade process based on corporate cadence
- Ensure stability and performance of the existing pipelines in accordance with internal SLA's
- Engineering Best Practices – Lead engineering standard processes, including test-driven development, agile management, and continuous integration pipelines
- Deploy and run monitoring tools that will ensure the timeliness, completeness, and accuracy of all data pipelines
- Guide the data engineering team through the enhancements of the existing data flows for source acquisition
- Solution Enhancements – Architect and collaborate with the data engineers on deploying new source acquisition pipelines
- Craft user documentation, including readme files, coding comments, and technical documents and provides guidance in this regard to the team
- Stay abreast on tool roadmap to find opportunities and risks to current landscape
- Provide advice and guidance to the functional teams on best-in-class technical solutions.
- Lead all aspects of daily system loads and control execution to ensure data integrity and alignment with other systems
- Day-to-Day Operations - Responsible for overall system availability and communication to global teams during times of outage
WHAT YOU BRING TO THE TABLE
- Experience in Snowflake Database or other similar columnar database
- Prior experience working in a cloud platform
- Experience managing a team in an Agile environment
- Experience working with modern ETL/ELT tools, such as Databricks is required
- Experience using Spark and Kafka for data streaming
- Experience designing data models following Kimbal Dimensional Modeling standard processes
- Experience with continuous integration and deployment through Azure DevOps
- Previous experience with leading data engineering teams is required
- Experience working with Azure Data Factory
- Experience: 5+ years in a similar role
- Education: Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, engineering, mathematics, or equivalent technical degree
- Proficiency in SQL required
- Experience applying Git version control in a data environment
- Experience working with SAP and Salesforce is a plus
- Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
- Experience with a business intelligence tool, such as Power BI
- Experience working in Azure
- Experience in distributed computing preferred
- Proficiency in Python and experience in PySpark required
