The Business Director taps into the consumer desire to grow the Crocs@Work category for the Americas region. They drive excellence in the existing Crocs@Work business across all channels. They will test, launch and scale new growth opportunities, and develop new channels and partners for both brick and mortar and digital distribution, consistent with the Crocs@Work strategy.
The ideal candidate is agile, able to move quickly between supervising core processes and implementing unproven innovations. They excel in cross-functional collaboration and building strong working relationships within and outside the organization. They are students of the past, authorities in the now, and can define future vision and set direction in ambiguity. They think big picture, connect dots easily, and translate strategy into action! They stay ahead of the competition and serve at the pace of the consumer.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Ensure the assortments improve brand cohesion and deliver commercial success at top and bottom lines, while aligning to clear and consistent tier/channel segmentation.
- Communicate clearly, honestly, and regularly with global and regional cross-functional partners on sales trends, growth opportunities, and obstacles to be overcome.
- Identify new category opportunities based on consumer insights, market analysis, internal brainstorming, and social listening, then prioritizing based on likelihood of success, return on investment at scale, and consumer/market impact.
- Ensure key programs, launches, and new products are supported by robust launch and sustain go-to-market plans.
- Maintain a current and in-depth understanding of the market landscape and identify and validate product and activation needs, opportunities and gaps.
- Identify distribution opportunities and improve growth penetration of the category.
- Ensure comp products and volume are protected where vital and newness will drive incremental growth.
- Build, innovate, and implement tools and processes that drive brand cohesion, and alignment to the strategic merchandising plan for the category.
- Counsel and partner with the channel leads on alignment to the planned assortment and closely handle depth and breadth of assortment and inventory investment.
- Expand the existing Crocs@Work business with clear penetration targets, excellent assortments, and compelling ready made go-to-market sales pitches.
- Partner with Finance, Supply Chain, and Operations to stay abreast of current cost to serve and ensure business plans and P/L models reflect current and accurate assumptions.
- Identify key consumer moments in the calendar to own and support the commercialization of geo-specific moments.
- Communicate a clear point of view on individual SKU commerciality and chip in to the finalization of the global product line including colorways, suggested retail prices, launch dates, key marketing campaigns, and key marketing SKU's.
- Build a balanced growth plan for Crocs@Work using a consumer-first mentality that incorporates operational and financial realities and drives end to end excellence
- Partner with Marketing & VM to support key campaigns and assortments.
- Lead aligned activation plans and playbooks.
- Identify enablers and barriers to success for programs and build broad organizational support for new programs with clear communication, process step owners, and market-relevant timelines.
- Analyze the business, test hypotheses, and drive actions that will capitalize on opportunities and mitigate weakness.
WHAT YOU BRING TO THE TABLE
- Track record of developing and implementing successful strategies in market
- Dynamic leadership and people management skills
- In depth knowledge of the footwear/apparel workwear industry
- Outstanding retail math skills
- Ideal candidate will have 8+ years of dynamic experience in the Work footwear segment, sales, business development, merchandising, marketing, product creation and/or retail.
- Shown experience and success with strategic planning and business planning
- Proven track record to optimally work in a highly cross-functional matrix environment
- Knowledge of international fashion/trends with the ability to translate into commercial concepts
- Strong organizational, analytical and time management skills
- Outstanding oral and written communication skills
