Entry Level Home Textile Designer

This entry level position is looking for a candidate to assist and help design Home Textiles products in the area of Soft Window Curtains, Decorative Pillows and Throws for a range of retailers from Mass Market to Fashion Market.We are looking for a creative individual with knowledge of all aspects of graphic art and an eye for styling.The person will work from concept to finished product for market week presentations as well as customer specific projects.The position works very closely with Sales and Production teams in NY.

Job Responsibilities:

• Review factory samples for pattern, color, repeat and construction.Must have ability to communicate comments back to factory that will guide them to ensuring production color is accurate.
• Trend analysis.
• Provide trend right or customer specific colorways on existing artwork for presentation and production purposes.
• Create detailed tech packs for production teams overseas.
• Create concept boards for presentations.
• Create Power Point presentations for customers and internal presentations.
• Comp shopping to find newness and understand competition .

Job Requirements

• High level attention to detail.
• Two years minimum of work experience in Home Textile or Fashion design.
• Strong organizational skills.
• Interest in Home Textiles or Fashion a must.
• Excellent color sense.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and work within deadlines.
• Ability to work as part of a team.
• Strong technical competencies of design, CAD skills, Photoshop and Illustrator are mandatory.
• Familiarity with design references, knowledge of surface and pattern design.Experience in jacquards a plus.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Textile/Fabric Design or related field.
• Flexible and comfortable in a fast paced work environment.
