Designer - 2D Design, Creative - Balmain Beauty

Principle Objectives
Assist both 2D and 3D in creating and developing innovative design solutions with high luxury aesthetic, within budgetary and timetable restraints of all programs. Responsible to maintain and uphold all brand standards as determined by brand management and the licensor. Responsible for incorporating brand aesthetics, product positioning and related criteria into the design development of presentations, print, digital, collateral and packaging. Projects are frequently undertaken and completed under very tight timelines and require a great attention to detail.
Responsibilities

• Reports to the Design Director on all facets of design, inclusive of packaging, related collateral materials and 2D projects
• Responsible for estimating, coordinating and obtaining global sign off of all seasonal marketing comps
• Participate in brainstorming exchange and presentations of new ideas/concepts with Global Marketing, Creative and Technical Packaging
• Responsible for overseeing outside freelance designers, comp-houses and illustrators
• Responsible for collaborating with cross-functional development partners including Creative, Technical Packaging, Product Marketing, Product Development, GBSC, and GSR. Responsible for participating in the new launch process, including attending PPD, Issuing Design Directions (DDs) and Design Turnovers (DTOs) as directed by the Design Director and in accordance with time tables
• Make internal presentations of design work in progress. Substitute for Director in internal presentations when needed
• Actively participate in all meetings, substituting for Director when necessary with decision-making responsibilities
• Attend outside design seminars and conferences to further expand knowledge in creative arena
• Manage production runs, color evaluations, tracking and controlling of all packaging related artwork to ensure accurate execution at production

Qualifications

• Self-motivated, pro-active, innovative and able to multi-task under pressure in fast paced environment
• BA or BFA preferred
• Must appreciate and respect the dynamics and approval process of a licensed brand
• Experience on luxury brands necessary
• Needs to be highly organized, detail oriented, timely and fiscally responsible
• Proficient in use of MAC environment with technical knowledge and proficiency in Illustrator and Photoshop a must. 2D modeling/rendering software knowledge and able to use AI and have motion skills.
• 2+ years of direct Design/Development experience preferred
• Must be a self-starter and able to work independently

The anticipated base salary range for this position is $60,500 to $90,500. Exact salary depends on several factors such as experience, skills, education, and budget. Salary range may vary based on geographic location. In addition to base salary, this position is eligible for participation in a highly competitive bonus program with possibility for overachievement based on performance and company results.
