Overview
Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation (SMBC) is hiring a Corporate & Investment Banking Analyst within the Healthcare industry.
This role is responsible for assisting in marketing efforts, cross-sell opportunities, and deal execution for both existing and prospective clients.
Responsibilities
- Support relationship managers in business promotion and client development, including collaboration with product partners to generate ideas / source transactions, pitch financing ideas across the capital structure and cross sell corporate and commercial banking products.
- Secondary point of contact for covered clients and internal product partners.
- Create and/or work with complex financial models which support the analysis of companies in particular sectors.
- Follow market and sector trends, collect marketing intelligence, and assist in client pitching, presentation material preparation, and conference calls.
- Support execution efforts by reviewing due diligence reports, coordinating processes with clients, advisors, other lenders and internal counterparties.
- Provide support to the Lending Management team in managing the transaction execution process from beginning to closing, including leading the effort to obtain capital allocation approval.
Qualifications
- Ability to organize thoughts, clearly articulate points, and provide summaries and explanations of transactions, verbally or in writing, to clients, management or other internal departments.
- Demonstrates a high degree of attention to detail and an ability to complete work accurately and in a timely manner against strict deadlines.
- Strong desire to develop accounting skills with an ability to read and interpret financial statements and perform cash flow analysis proficiently.
- Excellent research skills.
- Outstanding financial modeling/valuation and analytical skills.
- Able to quickly learn and adapt to new processes and systems.
Requirements:
- Required: BA / BS.
- Business fluency in English language.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word, Powerpoint).
- Expectation to complete series 79/63 within 6 months of joining.
