Job Description
JOB DESCRIPTION


This position is specifically for the Healthcare team. You will work closely with all areas of Public Finance, including DCM, various syndicate desks, and credit origination to pitch not-for-profit and municipal healthcare clients and execute transactions. You will also interact with various professionals in other areas of the firm to facilitate presentations, RFP responses and to execute bond and M&A transactions. The department overall takes a team-based approach to client coverage that is ideal for a candidate who works collaboratively in a group setting to deliver solutions for clients.

Job Responsibilities

  • Perform credit and debt capacity analyses for specific credits based on industry/sector
  • Create and manage debt profiles for issuers/credits and evaluate existing debt portfolios for refunding/restructuring opportunities
  • Prepare responses to requests for proposals (“RFP”) required as part of the solicitation process for new business
  • Participate in client presentations, as required, as well as prepare presentation materials used by bankers and senior management for client meetings and formal pitches
  • Execute bond financings for all transactions in which J.P. Morgan participates
  • Develop and execute strategic advisory and M&A work, including generating valuation and DCF models, transaction comparables, market and landscapes, as well as transaction processing and execution
  • Utilize industry-approved third-party programs (DBC) to prepare bond structures and develop customized financial models using Excel to develop tailored bond financing structures

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills:

  • Demonstrate high academic strength, strong teamwork, communication skills and a high energy level
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint. Strong accounting, finance, quantitative and business writing skills
  • Impeccable communication details with the ability to effectively interact with senior professionals, clients and key stakeholders in other lines of business
  • Ability to work well under pressure in a demanding environment, producing accurate, detailed materials while meeting tight deadlines
  • Undergraduate degree from a prestigious university or higher required; well-rounded academic background with coursework in finance, economics, public policy and/or a similarly rigorous curriculum
  • Strong work ethic is a must and ability to commit to the multi-year analyst program; self-directed, highly motivated, and able to work independently
  • Adaptable; able to manage projects independently and ready to assume a high level of responsibility as a member of a team

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills:

  • Previous Public Finance or Healthcare experience at an investment bank or financial advisory firm
