Copy Proofreader - 100% Remote

Terms of Employment

• Candidates can complete work based on availability (normal business hours, evenings, weekends, etc.). There is no strict schedule. With that said, 30-35 hours per week must be accommodated.
• This position is 100% remote.
• This position is budgeted for 30-35 hours per week. There is opportunity, during busy periods, to work 40-hours per week.
• W2 Contract, 6 Months (Possible Extension)

Overview

• Our client is looking for a Proofreader to focus on ‘Product Detail Page’ content. The Proofreader will review product descriptions and key benefits to ensure compliance with organizational standards, style guides, and grammar. The Proofreader will become quickly familiar with organizational style to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment with a high-volume workload requiring short turnaround times. In tandem with another Proofreader on the team, this individual will support up to 12 Copy Writers. The basic process is as follows:Receive a ticket through Jira pertaining to product copy that has been written/edited by a Copy Writer.
• Rinse and repeat!
• Assign to Management through Jira for final review prior to publishing.
• Ensure the copy aligns with organizational standards, style guides, and grammar – and makes edits as needed. If the work is incomplete, reassign back to Copy Writer.

Required Skills & Experience

• Ability to meet established Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
• Strong experience editing/proofing copy for products.
• Strong experience working within Microsoft Word.
• Strong copy editing/proofing experience in the ecommerce or retail / e-tail industries.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment with a high-volume workload requiring short turnaround times.

Preferred Skills & Experience

• Experience working within Jira or a similar ticketing system.
