How You’ll Make An Impact

Your mission in this role will be to monitor, validate and edit large volumes of metadata associated with Sirius XM’s diverse and engaging content offering (from shows debuting the newest music to coverage of all major sports to shows hosted by some of the biggest comedians and celebrities and everything in between) with a keen eye on detail and consistency. This will include verifying descriptive metadata designed to drive engagement as well as back-end metadata that fuels search and recommendation. In addition, you will be responsible for applying supplemental metadata and liaising with creators to drive ongoing improvement.

What You’ll Do

• Metadata quality assurance - Ensure that the quality of metadata meets SiriusXM’s standards and adheres to internal guidelines
• Collaborate with Product & Technology and Content organizations to prioritize efforts
• Metadata Analysis - Work with supervisor to provide ongoing, data-driven, feedback intended to drive improvement in metadata tagging
• Content Tagging - Review and apply additional tags to content to improve the quality of search, recommendations, and discovery experiences
• Communicate best practices to content creators and serve as point of contact for ongoing support
• Other tasks as assigned by supervisor

What You’ll Need

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Passion and depth of knowledge of one or more of following: Music, Sports, Politics/News, Entertainment
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively
• Experience with CMS, data asset management, libraries, or digital collections
• Excellent time management skills; the ability to prioritize, multitask, and work under shifting deadlines in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent attention to detail, and process information quickly and with precision
• Experience with content metadata
• Must have legal right to work in the U.S.
• Knowledge of taxonomy standards and best-practices for metadata tagging
• Knowledge of current streaming, music and talk radio user experience strategies is strongly preferred

At SiriusXM, we carefully consider a wide range of factors when determining compensation, including your background and experience. These considerations can cause your compensation to vary. We expect the base salary for this position to be in the range of $42,700 to $50,000 and will depend on your skills, qualifications, and experience. Additionally, this role might be eligible for discretionary short-term and long-term incentives. We encourage all interested candidates to apply.
