Job Description

POSITION SUMMARY

The Continuous Improvement Engineer develops, plans, and implements necessary improvement projects to produce and deliver products for Operations. This position serves as a project manager and technical resource to other employees as well as assisting with training.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Reviews proposals from outside vendors regarding the purchase of new and/or the modernization of existing production/processing equipment.
  • Additional duties as assigned.
  • Recommends and implements improvements and/or modifications in sequence of operations, equipment utilization, and continuous improvement opportunities.
  • Solves complex problems through decision making, extensive research, analysis and evaluation of multiple variables.
  • Investigates and resolves work-in-process problems.
  • Develops and implements production and processing methods and controls to meet customer and quality standards in the most cost efficient manner.

QUALIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business or related field
  • Ability to work with and influence peers and senior management.
  • Ability to work well autonomously and within a team in a fast-paced and deadline-oriented environment.
  • Solid understanding and application of mathematical concepts.
  • Self-motivated with critical attention to detail, deadlines and reporting.
  • Ability to develop and maintain collaborative relationships with peers and colleagues across the organization, as well as, internal and external clients.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills (including analysis, interpretation, & reasoning).
  • 6+ years of previous continuous improvement experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Strong analytical, prioritizing, interpersonal, problem-solving, presentation, budgeting, project management (from conception to completion), & planning skills.
  • Occasional travel either locally, nationally, and/or internationally may be required.
  • Advanced degree (MBA, Master’s) preferred
  • Ability to work overtime as necessary.
  • High degree of proficiency MS Office Suite, Outlook & Internet applications.

  • Occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.
  • Regularly required to stand; walk; sit; and talk, hear and see.
