Job Details:
Purpose
Play a role in advancing and improving internally developed systems vital to Applied Research Laboratories’ operations including our custom identity management system. Analyze, design, develop, implement, document, and maintain enterprise applications.
Ideal candidates will be smart problem solvers with a passion for resolving technical challenges within complex systems through strong programming, analysis, and interpersonal communication skills. Interested developers should have dynamic skill sets with an eagerness to learn new tech while balancing multiple tasks and supporting a work/life balance.
Responsibilities
  • Provide end user training, documentation and support for applications developed/supported.
  • Consult with stakeholders for project requirements for new development/refinement and problem definition as necessary.
  • Other related functions as assigned.
  • Verify, validate, and test code changes using approved workstation configurations.
  • Develop, debug, document, maintain, and enhance internally developed end user applications as defined and assigned.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree.
  • At least one year of full-time experience designing, developing, and implementing web applications in a commercial environment.
  • Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.
Applicant must have a dynamic skill set, willing to work with new technologies, be highly organized and capable of planning and coordinating multiple tasks and managing their time. The position will require attention to detail, effective problem solving skills and excellent judgment. Ability to work independently with sensitive and confidential information, maintain a professional demeanor, work as a team member without daily supervision and effectively communicate with diverse groups of clients. Able to work under pressure and accept supervision. Regular and punctual attendance.
US Citizen. Applicant selected will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information at the level appropriate to the project requirements of the position.
Preferred Qualifications
  • At least 1 year full-time working experience with Java, Spring, especially Spring Boot
  • Experience with common network practices/protocols: HTTP 1.1/2.0/3.0, REST, WebSockets.
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field.
  • Proficiency with Git using a defined workflow.
  • At least 1 year full-time working experience with Python.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with relational database design (DDL) and usage (DML)
  • Experience with JavaScript frameworks such as Angular, React, Vue or equivalent.
  • Experience with Maven.
  • Additional years of experience developing web application frontends. Recent experience with web design/development and associated toolsets.
  • Familiarity with modern development tools and methodologies including automated testing, dependency management tools, testing frameworks, CI/CD, and package/image deployment.
  • Familiarity with Linux command-line environment.

Salary Range
