This platform handles millions of merchant transactions around the clock while delivering a robust feature set aimed at boosting our merchant’s payments capabilities. Future platform development work utilizes microservices, cloud-based architecture with best of breed technologies to promote easier scaling and maintenance. The development environment aims to continually improve as new technologies are considered for the purpose of gains made in efficiency or effectiveness. Service codebases rely on a large suite of automated tests to help find defects early in the life cycle. Software development teams have true ownership of the services as they build, release, and operate.

IS provides a leading in-house payment management platform (SaaS - Software as a Service) that serves high-volume merchants such as Netflix, Overstock.com, GoDaddy, and many more. As a Software Engineer, your skills will be at the core of changing the way the world pays, banks, and invests. You’ll plan and manage application development and client delivery activities that range from small, simple software applications to components of large, complex software applications.

What you will be doing:

• Design, develop, and test software for scalability, reliability, and data recovery associated with a high-volume, high-availability platform
• Ability to quickly grasp high-level business goals, derive requirements, and translate them into effective technical solutions
• Exceptional SQL and JAVA design and programming skills
• Work in a "team focused" culture, where strong collaboration and communication are critical
• 1+ years of relevant on the job experience in Software Engineering, not including internships.
• A Bachelor’s degree in computer engineering, computer science or other related discipline or the equivalent combination of education, training, or work experience.
• Collaborate with other internal teams (Product, Platform, Merchant Services and Support) to convert business requirements into technical solutions
• Ability to fluidly change context and priorities based on changing business needs
• Experience with Microservices architecture, globally distributed services, and 24/7 support
• Experience with RESTful API design, and cloud technologies like Kubernetes, Kafka
• Use Agile software techniques such as pair programming and test-driven development to maximize productivity and quality
• What you will need:
• Proficiency with SQL, relational data modelling, and database schema design
• Deploy new features into production with zero platform downtime and no impact to end customers who are currently processing
• Build domain expertise in e-commerce payments and apply engineering expertise to develop new product features

What you bring:

• "Team focus" with strong collaboration and communication skills
• Knowledge of scalability levers in high volume, low latency transactional systems
• Pair programming experience. A willingness to try is a requirement
• Development experience with a unit testing framework (JUnit and experience employing TDD preferred)
• Ability to quickly grasp high level business goals, derive requirements, and create effective testing strategies
• Experience with Splunk, Sysdig, OpsGenie, Dynatrace, Instaclustr, Prometheus, JBehave, JGiven
• Experience working in AWS, OpenShift Platform
• At least 1 year of experience with design and implementation of monitoring and responsive, self-healing resilient immutable platforms
• Experience with Ansible, Maven, Gradle, Jenkins, Black Duck, Checkmarx, SonarQ, Cucumber, Karate

Added Bonus:

• Development experience with a unit testing framework (JUnit and experience employing TDD preferred) Pair programming experience. A willingness to try is a requirement
