This Compliance Strategy Principal Program Manager will be the corporate Subject Matter Expert on Substance & Environmental Regulations. The regulatory scope of this role includes, but is not limited to, RoHS (Reduction of Hazardous Substances), global RoHS-like regulations, REACH (Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation and Restriction of Chemicals), SCIP (Substances of Concern in Products(articles)), US EPA Toxic Substances Control Act (TSCA), IATA/ICAO Dangerous Goods, Battery Directives & Regulations, California Prop 65, US state level PFAS, Packaging Directives, and similar. This resource will determine and interpret applicable regulatory standards for Oracle Hardware products. The role will provide regulatory change transition leadership to the internal Hardware Lines of Business for major regulatory changes.
The ideal candidate will be a recognized industry expert in ITE (Information Technology Equipment) Substance Regulations, and will have experience as a participant in Trade Groups, Technical Advisory Committees, and or similar collaborative technical advocacy organizations. The ideal candidate will have broad technical compliance Program Management experience in addition to expertise in global sustainability regulations. The ideal candidate will have experience in managing cross-functional teams to implement and deliver new processes to solve technical compliance requirements.
This resource will work closely with the Design Engineering, Legal, Global Trade Compliance, and consultants to ensure Oracle Hardware Substance & Environmental Compliance specifications are clear for strategic markets.
Ideal Candidates will have a Master’s Degree in a related STEM field, such as Environmental Science, Industrial Hygiene, Material Science, etc.
Job Responsibilities:
- Provide guidance on product compliance databases and reporting structures to ensure compliant product, database tools, and processes
- Medical equipment compliance experience is a plus
- Educates engineering teams, product/program managers and business units on regulations for new and existing product lines
- Define business metrics and checkpoints to ensure the new processes have the ability to adjust over time
- Assign and monitor work of systems analysis and program staff, providing Substance Compliance Technical support and direction
- Provide expert advice in global ITE product substance compliance regulations and analyze impacts to Oracle’s Hardware business examples include (but not limited to) EU REACH, SCIP, RoHS, global RoHS-like regulations, US TSCA, IATA/ICAO Dangerous Goods, US state-level PFAS (example Maine PFAS), and CA Proposition 65
- Monitor and track changes to global product compliance regulations relevant to Oracle strategic markets
- Expert in ITE Life-cycle Release Management Processes
- Work with internal and external Materials Subject Matter Experts to define material analysis test plans, and interpret resulting data
- Define Substance Compliance Policy & Strategy Recommendations to Management
- Regulatory Leadership & Change Management
- Define Strategy and Enact strategic plans to maintain compliance with, and mitigate risk triggered by, international Substance & Environmental regulations
- Ability to manage multiple complex projects
- Provides risk assessments based on regulations and Oracle’s methodologies and ensures the appropriate level of visibility
- Plan and direct schedules related to new regulation change transition
- Proficient in data automation, data management, data input in Environmental database management systems or other similar tools (Agile and or Fusion preferred) as necessary for Substance Regulation tracking
- Demonstrates strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills, including the ability to communicate effectively with people in a variety of disciplines though all levels of an organization

- Process & Reporting Tools Expert
- Expert in interpreting hardware substance regulations, extracting due-diligence actions, and documenting plans for business leads, which may include policies, specifications, guidelines, and processes
- Work with internal and external Materials Subject Matter Experts to define test techniques, methodologies, and practices for detecting materials and measuring concentrations
- Work with internal and external Materials Subject Matter Experts to provide strategic advice to Oracle Business leads on regulated substances utilized in Computer Industry technologies
- Define, communicate, and lead complex Substance Regulatory strategies for Compute, Storage, Networking, and Point of Sales (POS) Equipment in the domestic and international markets, including assessments of the regulatory impact of changes to design, materials, labeling, software, and suppliers
- Define robust and efficient processes where none may currently exist to address regulation changes
- Proficient in understanding forward, reverse, and service logistics requirements for ITE supply chains
- Monitor new regulation change projects from initiation through delivery
- Expert in Spreadsheet & Documentation Applications

- Organize the cross-organizational activities ensuring completion of the project/product on schedule with a compliant outcome

Range and benefit information provided in this posting are specific to the stated location(s)
California Pay Range: from $87,800 to $225,400 per annum. May be eligible for bonus and equity.
Colorado Pay Range: from $103,500 to $202,900 per annum. May be eligible for bonus and equity.
Washington Pay Range: from $114,000 to $214,200 per annum. May be eligible for bonus and equity.
Oracle maintains broad salary ranges for its roles in order to account for variations in knowledge, skills, experience and market conditions, as well as reflect Oracle’s differing products, industries and lines of business.
Candidates are typically placed into the range based on the preceding factors as well as internal peer equity.

8. Paid time off: Flexible Vacation is provided to all eligible employees assigned to a salaried (non-overtime eligible) position. Vacation accrual is prorated for employees working between 20 and 34 hours per week. Employees working fewer than 20 hours per week are not eligible for vacation.
