Auto Trakk had been in operation since 2001 as a consumer finance company specializing in used vehicle leasing, providing access to reliable transportation for individuals with moderate to severe credit issues through franchised and independent automobile dealers across 13 states.
Overview
Auto Trakk currently has an opening for a Collector III – Team Lead (COL III) to join our Collections Team. This is an intermediate level position in the Collections Department that is responsible for overseeing daily collection activity through skilled decision making and qualified experience in sub-prime collections services, who functions as a liaison between management and staff Collectors, with a focus on performance development, coaching, mentoring and motivating team members to achieve the department’s goals and objectives, and using their expertise of department operations, procedures and processes to provide department staff with guidance and to take escalated Collection calls.
Bi-lingual candidates fluent in Spanish are highly desired, but all qualified applicants will be considered.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Collects past due amounts owed on customer accounts which includes making outbound and taking inbound calls.
- Support and promote policies and procedures, notify the Department Manager of any violations, and participate in disciplinary meetings with department employees.
- Assist with the training of New Hires and the on-going training of collectors.
- Work in collaboration with other departments to support Company goals, objectives, and strategies.
- Assist with the creation and updating of all collections materials including, but not limited to, policies and procedures, new hire training, weekly trend reports, scheduling, and attendance tracking.
- Meet or exceed the department goals.
- Develop advanced knowledge of Auto Trakk portfolios, terminology and technology including GPS systems to be able to support department and organization procedures.
- Monitor, support, and coach team members on a daily basis.
- Take/assist with escalated customer calls.
- Participate in interviewing Collector candidates.
- Act as the primary point of contact in the absence of the Collections Manager.
- Participate in performance reviews.
- Maintain knowledge of and model adherence to Regulatory Compliance for financial institutions and collection activities.
- Coordinate and help facilitate communication within and between departments.
- Be available to work any shift during operating hours, and additional hours as needed.
Auto Trakk’s hours of operation for Collections are Monday-Friday 8:30 AM to 7:00 PM (ET) and Saturday from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM (ET). This full-time position is based on a 40-hour workweek during the hours of operation. Team Leads are generally scheduled to work rotating Saturday shifts, once every third week. Hours may be adjusted for business needs.

Requirements:Work location must have reliable high-speed internet connection.
Education and Experience Requirements
- Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing, which requires knowledge of the structure and content of the English language.
- Three-five years of industry experience, such as Call Center, Collections and/or Sub-prime financing.
- Operation of general office equipment for faxing, scanning, printing, and copying.
- Knowledge of principles and processes for providing excellent customer service.
- Ability to operate and use a computer to perform all functions of the position, including document management software, web-based applications, and use of Microsoft Office Suite including Word (word processing), Excel (spreadsheets), Outlook (email), and Teams (video conferencing and chat).
- Ability to use a multi-line phone system to speak with and listen to people on inbound and outbound calls with the use of a headset.
- If remote, must reside in the Eastern or Central time zones.
- High school diploma or equivalent required with college level coursework with an emphasis in business preferred.
- If bilingual, ability to communicate effectively verbally over the phone in Spanish.
