Summary

• Ability to clinically assess situations/issues and determine appropriate escalation path.
• Applicable to the Oncology Systems business only: Position must have full access to VMS client sites to perform the essential functions of this position. Many VMS clients require VMS employees and representatives to meet certain “Vendor Credentialing” requirements before they will be allowed to have access to their sites. Unless prohibited by law, position must meet all Vendor Credentialing requirements necessary to have full client access, and must continue to meet those requirements during the course of VMS employment in this position.
• The qualified candidate will be an analytic problem solver who is capable of recommending solutions/corrective actions to customer application questions.
• Management of incoming customer support requests regarding Varian’s Oncology products.
• May also provide customer training, demo support at Trade Shows and for the Varian Sales organization, as well as formulate and review written customer support training materials.
• Works as an integral member of the complaint process, and communicates relevant information to the customer as appropriate.

Minimum Required Skills And Knowledge

• Clinical Radiation experience essential. Commissioning Linear accelerators Commissioning Radiotherapy treatment planning systems.
• Immunizations (Hep B, MMR, Varicella, Influenza, Tetanus)
• Other Desired Skills and Knowledge: Strong customer service skills.
• Must have strong troubleshooting, analytic, and problem-solving skills.
• Interaction: Networks with key contacts outside own area of expertise.
• Having wide-ranging experience, uses professional concepts and company objectives to resolve complex issues in creative and effective ways.
• Healthcare trainings
• Experience Level with Business Tools: Proficient in utilizing business tools such as: E-mail, Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Applicable to the Oncology Systems business only: Meets all Vendor Credentialing requirements necessary to gain VMS client site access, unless prohibited by law. These requirements vary by client and may include, but are not limited to:
• Job Complexity: Works on complex issues where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of variable factors.
• Criminal background checks
• Proof of valid identification (photo, driver’s license, SSN)
• 25% travel requirement
• ABR certified a plus.
• Demonstrates ability and work under pressure situations.
• Exercises independent judgment and discretion in solving complex business problems.
• Works effectively in teams.
• Knowledge Mastered 60-80% within the defined professional scope.
• Typical Education and Experience: Minimum of Master’s Degree in Medical Physics or related field, required 7-9 years of work experience or in a clinical application related occupation.
• Supervision: Determines methods and procedures reviewed by others on new assignments and may coordinate activities of other personnel (Team Lead).
• Experience with HCM (e.g., Workday) or equivalent ERP product and productivity software desired.
• Self-directed.
• Drug screens
• Minimum 5 years in the job role.
• Required Certifications and Training: Must have a Master’s degree in Medical Physics or international equivalent Obtains and completes LMS training plan specific to assigned responsibility.
• Calibration and quality assurance of imaging systems and for Linear accelerators.
• Must be able to multitask, be organized.
• Annual TB testing
• Experience in IGRT, IMRT, VMAT, SBRT, HDR, brachytherapy Treatment planning execution and oversight.
